Obama Gives Israel Way Too Much Love in Valentine's Day Budget February 14th, 2011 | ||
Today--Valentine's Day--President Obama sent his 2012 budget request to Congress. As we anticipated, it includes a record-breaking request for $3.075 billion in military aid to Israel. Given our $14 trillion debt and the fact that Israel misuses U.S. military aid to commit systematic human rights abuses against Palestinians, now is the time toend--not increase--military aid to Israel. Because the President showed Israel way too much love on Valentine's Day, we're hoping that you can be our Valentine by "offsetting" the estimated $21.59 in weapons that the average taxpayer will give to Israel this year.
Your Valentine's Day gift to the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation, unlike flowers and chocolate, is entirely tax-deductible and will go directly toward our campaign to educate and organize millions of our fellow citizens to challenge military aid to Israel during this budget cycle.
Supporter, thanks again for being our Valentine by "offsetting" your taxesin military aid to Israel. Your generous support enables us to continue our efforts to educate and organize people to end U.S. military aid to Israel. Yours, Josh Ruebner National Advocacy Director US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation |
