De Israelische Terreur 932

Another excellent, informative article by Jonathan Cook.

Another sign of official Israeli despair, confusion and amateurishness.

What's amazing is that some of those Israeli foreign ministry officials really believe that they are dealing here quite creatively with the "new media." Actually, among all the re-branding, multi-million dollar propaganda campaigns that Israel has waged for years, this must be among the most witless. As any average-intelligence internet user knows, you can detect official Israeli propaganda quite easily! When an article talks about the latest Israeli massacre in Gaza or Lebanon, say, and a wise John Smith starts in the talk-back section to remind everyone how Iran and Islamic terror are the real problem for all "Middle Easterners," you can smell the hasbara in the cyber-air!

Personally, I felt Israel's extensive use of its top writers, poets as well as music and dance groups as "cultural ambassadors," especially since the bloodbath in Gaza, is a much smarter re-branding tool. It always works in Germany and Italy, it seems! Sometimes in France, too. But, overall, it really has not yet posed a serious challenge to the growing BDS movement against Israel.

Israeli officials are invariably, nauseatingly arrogant -- no news there! -- and quite often thick, too; they cannot seem to comprehend that images of atrocious war crimes and phosphorous bombs fired on UN schools, killing children, wipe out all the impact their writers and musicians can ever have on international public opinion.
