I’ve learned over and over that the way an organization raises money impacts the work it does.
Because we’re funded by a grassroots base, we don’t have to water down our message or sacrifice our principles. We can put pressure on powerful people and corporations without worrying about the fundraising ramifications. We’re accountable to YOU.
I am proud that JVP never for a moment considers straying from our fundamental values in order to chase institutional funding – and I am SO inspired when I see small donors invested in a vision of justice stepping in to help.

For decades, U.S. tax dollars have funded Israel’s human rights abuses of Palestinians. President-elect Biden has played a key role in U.S. complicity, and at the AIPAC conference in 2017, Vice President-elect Kamala Harris pledged her support for the continuation of this unconditional funding.
As more and more Jews and allies commit to working for justice and equality for all in Israel/Palestine, establishment Jewish organizations are bending into pretzels to deny Israel’s blatant human rights abuses and anti-democratic policies.
Standing up to Trump was just part of the work – standing up to mainstream Democrats, anti-Palestinian Christian Zionists, and the Jewish establishment is also our work. One day we will not be such a lonely Jewish voice calling for an end to funding Israel’s injustices.
