Sham MH17 Trial in the Hague
by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org – Home – Stephen Lendman)
Neither Russia or Donbass freedom fighters had anything to do with downing Malaysian Airlines MH17 on July 17, 2014 in eastern Ukraine airspace, killing all passengers and crew members aboard.
The Western concocted Big Lie persists despite no evidence linking three Russians and one Ukrainian on trial in absentia — already judged guilty by accusation, rigged proceedings to assure it.
US-installed Kiev putschists were responsible for what happened, an incident orchestrated by the Obama/Biden regime to demonize Russia unjustly.
Russia’s Defense Ministry earlier debunked false accusations, saying a missile fragment used to blame Moscow wasn’t in its military’s arsenal, its production discontinued years earlier, more advanced systems replacing it, explaining:
“The serial number unambiguously indicates that the engine was manufactured in the Soviet Union back in 1986.” By 2011, missiles manufactured in that year “were withdrawn from service, written off or scrapped,” adding:
“The sole reason why the JIT stays quiet about the origin of the missile engine manufactured in 1986 is the missile more than likely belonged to the Ukrainian armed forces.”
The incident was a classic false flag, staged when Donbass freedom fighters were smashing fascist Ukrainian aggression.
What possible motive could they or Russia have had to down a commercial airliner — clearly none at all.
According to Sputnik News last month, leaked documents showed no Russian Buk missile downed the Malaysian aircraft — none “in the vicinity of where the Malaysian Airlines Boeing crashed in eastern Ukraine on 17 July 2014,” adding:
Dutch military intelligence said it’s “apparent that flight MH17 was flying beyond the range of all identified and operational Ukrainian and Russian locations where 9K37M1 Buk M1 systems were deployed.”
The so-called Joint Investigation Team (JIT) comprised of the Netherlands, Belgium, Australia, Malaysia and Ukraine has this information, absolving Russia and Donbass freedom fighters of responsibility for what happened.
Moscow slammed it work, saying investigators “completely ignore(d) and reject(ed) testimon(ies) of eyewitnesses from the nearby Ukrainian communities.”
They provided essential information, “indicating (a missile launch at MH17) was carried out from a territory controlled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.”
So-called JIT evidence (sic) came anti-Russia Kiev putschists, along with fake computer-generated images on social media.
Russian firm Almaz-Antley once produced the type Buk missile claimed to have downed MH17. It was long ago discontinued, replaced by more sophisticated models.
Almaz-Antley conducted extensive analysis into MH17’s downing, its findings proving the missile came from Ukrainian military-controlled territory, not Donbass as falsely claimed.
MH17 fuselage damage didn’t match clearly fabricated JIT evidence – including the angle of impact, showing the missile couldn’t have come from Donbass.
Sham trial proceedings began Monday — to last weeks or months as a Russophobic propaganda ploy for maximum establishment media exposure.
No credible evidence showing Russian or Donbass freedom fighter involvement in what happened exists so it was invented.
Dutch political scientist Kees van der Pijl slammed sham trial proceedings, saying:
“Just think of the absurd security measures that have been taken, just as if two Russian divisions are expected to attack anytime.”
“The reason that (the trial) is unfair is because there has been a clamor in public opinion to build up towards condemnation: ‘the four suspects should be found guilty,’ and all the newspapers, for instance, are busy detailing on which grounds that can be achieved.”
Russia was excluded from pre-trial investigative work, facts proving its innocence suppressed from JIT findings.
Long before proceedings began, the JIT ruled against Russian innocence as a legitimate defense.
