Dit is het embleem van de Joodse terroristische organisatie de Irgun, die tijdens en na de Tweede Wereldoorlog Palestijnen en Britten vermoordden bij terreuraanslagen.

Oke, ter zake nu: Israelische politici van links zowel als rechts spreken van het Land Israel, Eretz Israel. Wat wordt daar precies mee bedoeld? Net als de premiers Begin, Shamir en Sharon, komt ook de huidige demissionaire premier Olmert uit deze extremistische zionistische beweging voort. Daarom is het interessant voor Nederlandse politici om te weten wat Kadima, de belangrijkste politieke partij, precies voorstaat:

Iedere Nederlandse politicus weet dus dat Kadima, de heersende partij van Israel, volgens zijn eigen agenda weigert het internationaal recht en de VN-resoluties te respecteren. De wereldgemeenschap eist van Israel dat het zijn leger uit de bezette gebieden terugtrekt, de Muur afbreekt en de Joodse nederzettingen ontruimd. Dat werd nog eens in 2004 door het Internationaal Gerechtshof in Den Haag bevestigd in een zogeheten advisory opinion. Een uitspraak die de Algemene Vergadering van de VN heeft bekrachtigd, inclusief de Nederlandse overheid. Met andere woorden: Nederland is zelfs verplicht om te voorkomen dat Israel blijvend de internationale rechtsorde schendt, door het stelen van Palestijns land, het bezetten en belegeren van Palestijns grondgebied, en het niet zorgen voor een oplossing voor de Palestijnse vluchtelingen die in 1948 en 1967 etnisch werden gezuiverd via grootschalige terreur van de Israelische strijdkrachten. Dit laatste wordt uitgebreid gedocumenteerd in het werk van de zogeheten Nieuwe Historici van Israel. Ook dat weten de Nederlandse politici in Den Haag. Ondertussen blijft Kadima doorgaan met deze schendingen. Bovendien weigert Kadima afstand te doen van de aanspraak op Groot-Israel, inclusief Jordanie. Ook dat is in strijd met het internationaal recht. Met andere woorden: de Israelische regering weigert een onafhankelijke Palestijnse staat te accepteren op het grondgebied dat de VN aan de Palestijnen heeft gegeven.

De vraag is nu: waarom boycot het Westen Hamas vanwege het niet erkennen van Israel, terwijl Israel op zijn beurt een levensvatbare Palestijnse staat niet erkend, zoals uit officiele documenten blijkt? Sterker nog: Israel wordt door het Westen militair, economisch, diplomatiek en politiek op grote schaal gesteund, terwijl 'de Joodse staat' al zes decennia lang het internationaal recht flagrant schendt. Denken de Nederlandse politici en journalisten nu werkelijk dat deze discrepantie door de rest van de wereld als fatsoenlijk wordt beschouwd, als een teken van hoe wij het recht respecteren en de mensenrechten? Denken Nederlandse politici en journalisten werkelijk dat het zo lang steunen van de Israelische terreur geen gevolgen zal hebben? Waarom verdelen de Nederlandse politici en journalisten de wereld in Joden en niet-Joden? Waarom mogen joods-Israeli's wel wat Palestijnen niet mogen?
