Genocide

Proverbial arrogance and a sense of impunity help justify genocide by manipulated references to the Holocaust. Israel is a pioneer in high-tech surveillance, targeted assassinations and the applications of AI to genocidal extermination. Israel is also a pioneer in normalizing fascist discourse and behavior in public life. Israel’s hubris and chutzpah—all of which are contrary to core Jewish values—will no doubt lead this moral monster of a state straight to perdition. In the meantime, it is important to see Zionism not as a continuation of Jewish history and tradition, but, rather, as a radical colonial project. Israel is a country without borders in more ways than one. Its leaders have never specified the defensible borders they want. Its ideology ignores borders, pretending that it is the state of the world’s Jews. Misleading expressions such as “Jewish state” and “Hebrew state” have polluted the media, so much so that they have entered into everyday language. Israeli leaders ignore borders, intervening in the political process of other countries, particularly in the United States. In the Middle East, the IDF pays no heed to borders, striking targets in its neighbouring countries, interventions carried out with impunity and cooperation with Western countries. Israel, for all its embrace of technological modernity, thus remains bound by the reactionary demodernizing Zionist ideology. This is why its history should teach all of us important lessons about the pitfalls of ethnic nationalism, militarism and self-righteousness, growing dangers that have emerged in many countries. 1.
