“Israeli” university suspends professor who spoke out on genocide in Gaza

The Hebrew University of Jerusalem suspended Professor Nadera Shalhoub-Kevorkian, from the faculty of law, after a series of “inciting statements and actions” - the university said in a statement cited by the “The Times of Israel”.
The professor was interviewed by Hebrew Channel 14 where she stated that “Israel” is committing genocide in Gaza and also called out the “Israeli” allegations that Hamas committed rape and sexual violence in “Operation Aqsa Typhoon” on Oct. 7.
“The Hebrew University rejects all of her distorted statements with disgust. The Hebrew University is proud to be an Israeli, public, and Zionist institution,” the university’s statement added.
According to her page, Prof. Nadera Shalhoub-Kevorkian’s research focuses on trauma, state crimes and criminology, surveillance, gender violence, law and society. She studies the crime of femicide and other forms of gendered based violence, violence against children in conflict ridden areas, crimes of abuse of power in settler colonial contexts, surveillance, securitization and social control.
