We are very excited to invite you to the film screening: The occupation of the American Mind: Israel’s Public Relations War in the U.S. on 22 November 2015.

While recent polls have shown global public opinion turning sharply against Israeli policy, public support for Israel in the U.S. has held firm, "The Occupation of the American Mind" looks at the information wars Israel and its supporters have been waging in the U.S. for decades. From PR offensives designed to manage perceptions of the occupation in the 1980s, to government-run social media campaigns today, this film provides an analysis of Israel's ongoing efforts to win the hearts and minds of the American people. Narrated by: Roger Walters.

After the film screening we will have a Question and Answer with the maker of the film: Sut Jhally.

Professor Sut Jhally is the founder and executive director of the Media Education Foundation, an internationally renowned producer of innovative educational video materials. He has also written widely in the areas of media studies, cultural studies and the political economy of communication. He is the author of 6 books, the most recent of which is The Spectacle of Accumulation: Essays in Media, Culture and Politics. Professor Jhally is also the recipient of an honorary doctorate in 2015 from Simon Fraser University.
