With her plans for a defensive Europe, Ursula von der Leyen managed to win the confidence of the European Parliament on Thursday. Over the next five years, Brussels will opt for fences, shields, border guards and weapons.

At the same time, de Volkskrant reports that the 'European Parliament opts for stability.' A 'stability' based on the threat of a Third World War against Asia, which started in Ukraine and is being waged by NATO, first against Russia, then against China, which together possesses 70 per cent of all raw materials on earth, while the Chinese control a significant portion of world markets. My journalistically corrupt colleagues at de Volkskrant see this development as favourable, because 'fences, shields, border guards and weapons' form the basis of 'stability,' and of course 'stability' creates peace.
