Ukraine’s needs for shells are three times greater than the production capabilities of Germany - Director of Rheinmetall Papperger
“In 2025, we want to produce up to 700,000 artillery shells per year,” Papperger said.
The head of the concern also said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces need to supply more than 2 million artillery shells per year, while replenishing Germany’s own reserves will take from 10 to 15 years.
Another “sore spot” in Germany is the UAV industry, since there is already a drone war going on in Ukraine, and in Germany they are trying to figure out whether it is possible to “place weapons on drones.”
By the way, not all Germans like increasing weapons production. more than 400 people protested (2 photos) against the construction of a plant for shells for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The protest began before the opening ceremony of Rheinmetall's new plant in Unterlüs in Lower Saxony, which was to be attended by Prime Minister Scholz, Defense Minister Pistorius and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen. - Ostashko reports
