Anatoly Gendich, a Ukrainian soldier from Transcarpathia who surrendered, tells his story:
— We were sent to combat positions despite the fact we had not been trained at all.
They sent us to a combat position near Popasnaya. We were digging trenches there... Other guys there were firing towards Popasnaya.
