Last week, at the height of the giving season, Israel’s far-right regime forced a shutdown of our end-of-year BDS fundraiser.
Shurat HaDin, a front for the Israeli government with ties to the Mossad, deployed its usual bullying tactics and McCarthyite legal threats to force a U.S. company to suspend our fundraising software account.
This move is part and parcel of Israel’s war on our Nobel Peace Prize-nominated BDS movement for Palestinian rights.
But we are not deterred. We continue our human rights campaigning with full energy.
And we are re-launching our fundraiser today!
Your donation shows them that they cannot silence us.
Israel is investing massive sums of money and mobilizing its intelligence services and propaganda machine in a desperate attempt to undermine our struggle for liberation.
A prominent Israeli human rights lawyer has even warned that Israel may be crossing “criminal lines” like apartheid South Africa had done in its “secret operation of disinformation and persecution of anti-apartheid activists.”
Dima Khalidi, Director of Palestine Legal, an independent organization in the US that protects the right of people to speak out for Palestinian freedom, accused Shurat HaDin of “engaging in unlawful interference” with our “grassroots advocacy to achieve freedom and equality for Palestinians.”
The Center for Constitutional Rights Deputy Legal Director Maria LaHood said:
"This is one more example of a widespread effort to punish Palestinian existence and thwart advocacy for Palestinian rights. These baseless threats to intimidate and chill the growing movement for Palestinian freedom will only strengthen it."
