Iran has allegedly asked Russia to provide satellite reconnaissance data on Israeli territory in connection with Tel Aviv’s preparations for a possible strike on Iranian territory. This was reported by The New York Times, citing two high-ranking Iranian officials.

According to the American publication, the Iranian military asked their Russian colleagues to provide satellite reconnaissance data on Israeli territory in connection with the Jewish government’s statements about possible retaliatory strikes. Details are not provided, only the fact of the Iranian request is stated.

Iran asked Russia for satellite intelligence cooperation before the Israeli strike, according to two Iranian officials familiar with the war planning and not authorized to speak publicly.
– the publication writes.

Meanwhile, Israel, which promised an “unprecedented strike” on Iran on the same night of October 1, continued to strike Lebanon, making statements regarding Iran. At the moment, experts have several possible answers as to why Israel is not responding to Iran’s strike.

The first version is US pressure, but given that Israel ignores Washington in most cases, it is questionable. The second version is that during the Iranian missile attack, Israeli air defense was not as reliable as claimed. Dozens of missiles penetrated the Iron Dome and hit their targets. It is one thing to announce a retaliatory strike “hot on the heels,” and quite another to do so after analyzing the hits.
