This is what standing up to apartheid looks like.

Dear friends,
This is what standing up to apartheid looks like.
young boy with peace sign raised and the words save khan al-ahmar
For days, Israeli bulldozers tried to raze the homes of Khan al-Ahmar – but brave protestors stopped them in their tracks.

Just yesterday the Israeli High Court put a pause on the destruction and displacement of this entire Palestinian Bedouin village – and we can help villagers stop it for good.
A few months ago, 74 members of Congress signed a letter asking Israel not to destroy Khan al-Ahmar. It’s clear now that Netanyahu just waited for the storm to blow over.
When the U.S. shines a spotlight, the bulldozers stop. Call your representatives NOW before the bulldozers come back and tell them a letter isn’t enough – they need to immediately call Israel’s Ambassador to escalate the pressure.
Since the Trump administration came into office, settlements have been growing at a record pace because Trump is greenlighting annexation.
And Khan al-Ahmar is not just a humanitarian crisis, it’s a political one with enormous implications for peace in Israel/Palestine.
The village is located between Jerusalem and the West Bank – and if Israel destroys it, it would split the West Bank in two and make a contiguous Palestinian state impossible.
Regardless of what we think of a two-state solution in Israel/Palestine, it is an incredibly cynical and callous move to displace an entire community and destroy their homes. That’s where we come in.
Because of the intimate relationship between the U.S. & Israel, our Members of Congress have the political power to pressure Israel to stop the destruction. But that only works when they step up.
Call talking points:
  • Be respectful and identify yourself as a constituent
  • As a constituent, I’m greatly concerned about the destruction of the Palestinian Bedouin village of Khan al-Ahmar
  • When Members of Congress speak out, Israel stops their destruction of Palestinian villages
  • As your constituent, I’m urging you to call Israel’s Ambassador Ron Dermer to demand Israel stop the demolition
  • Please also call attention to this issue by tweeting about in order to create public pressure and opposition to the demolitions
Thanks so much for taking this vital action against destruction and towards justice, dignity and equality.
