NAVO bereid grootschalige militaire oefening voor bij Zwarte Zee

Het Amerikaanse leger en haar NAVO bondgenoten brengen deze zomer 25.000 militairen op de been voor een grootschalige militaire oefening bij de Zwarte Zee. Deze oefening, genaamd Saber Guardian 2017, moet in juli plaatsvinden in de landen Bulgarije, Hongarije en Roemenië.

Dit soort oefeningen van de NAVO zijn een jaarlijks terugkerend fenomeen, maar volgens het US European Command is er de afgelopen jaren nog niet eerder op een dergelijk grote schaal geoefend. Inclusief de Amerikaanse bijdrage doen er in totaal 24 verschillende landen mee aan de militaire oefeningen van de NAVO, waarvan ‘Saber Guardian 2017’ de grootste is.

Uit het persbericht van het Amerikaanse leger blijkt dat er voor dit jaar nog zeventien andere NAVO oefeningen gepland staan, waarvan het grootste gedeelte langs de grenzen van Rusland. Het doel van deze oefeningen is om snel te kunnen mobiliseren in het geval van dreiging, waar die ook vandaan mag komen. Daarnaast zal er geoefend worden met het oversteken van meerdere rivieren, met het schieten op doelen en een scenario waarin een groot aantal slachtoffers valt.

De ontwikkelingen in Oekraine en de Krim werden door de NAVO landen gezien als rechtvaardiging om meer troepen en militair materiaal naar de grens met Rusland te sturen. Zo is er de afgelopen jaren in de Baltische Staten en in de landen grenzend aan de Zwarte Zee een grote hoeveelheid militairen, tanks, transportvoertuigen en munitie geplaatst. Ook worden er 50 oorlogsschepen en meer dan 50 gevechtsvliegtuigen in gereedheid gebracht.

NAVO bedreigt Rusland

Volgens het US European Command zijn de militaire oefeningen van de NAVO langs de grens met Rusland bedoeld om de stabiliteit in de regio te verbeteren, maar zo denken ze er aan de andere kant van de grens niet over. Rusland spreekt van een provocatie en ziet zich daarom als soeverein land genoodzaakt een leger klaar te zetten dat minstens gelijkwaardig is aan dat van de NAVO landen.

Afgelopen week onderschepte een Russisch gevechtsvliegtuig een Amerikaanse B52 bommenwerper, die in het neutrale luchtruim boven de Oostzee vloog. Dit gigantische vliegtuig heeft een actieradius van meer dan 10.000 kilometer en kan met nucleaire bommen worden uitgerust. Het is onduidelijk waarom dit vliegtuig zo dicht bij de grens vloog en of deze geladen was met munitie.

Begin deze maand stuurde het Amerikaanse leger een onbekend aantal B52 bommenwerpers richting de grens met Rusland. Ook worden er voor de NAVO oefeningen 800 Amerikaanse piloten ingevlogen. Met zoveel militair materiaal langs de Russische grens hoef je je niet meer af te vragen wie de agressor is. Het is de te hopen dat het bij oefeningen blijft.

Indian faith sought the harmony of man with his surroundings; the other sought the dominance of surroundings.

In sharing, involving all and everything, one people naturally found a due portion of the thing he sought, while in fearing the other found need of conquest. 

For one man the world was full of beauty; for the other it was a place of sin and ugliness to be endured until he went to another world, there to become a creature of wings, half man and half bird.

Forever one man directed his Mystery to change the world He had made; forever this man pleaded with Him to chastise his wicked ones; and forever he implored his God to send His light to earth. Small wonder this man could not understand the other.

But the old Lakota was wise. He knew that man’s heart, away from nature, becomes hard; he knew that lack of respect for growing, living things soon led to lack  of respect for humans too. So he kept his children close to nature’s softening influence.

In het Europa van 2017 is, goddank, de overgrote meerderheid nog altijd een overtuigd democraat. En een man als Trump is geen Poetin en geen Erdogan, hij handelt niet in een traditie van tsaren en sultans. Integendeel. Hij opereert in de democratische context van de Amerikaanse Founding Fathers die bijna twee en een halve eeuw geleden een stelsel ontwierpen dat er, via allerlei ‘checks and balances’, juist voor bedoeld was om dit soort totalitaire leiders effectief de pas af te snijden. De Amerikanen zweren, net als de meeste Europeanen, voor staatsfuncties geen eed aan een bepaalde persoon maar aan de constitutie, aan een stelsel van democratische principes. Nu moeten die democratische systemen, zowel in Europa als in de VS, echter laten zien dat ze, ondanks alle polarisatie en corruptie, nog steeds functioneren. Het zal erom spannen.

According to the first enclosed article by Conn Hallinan, Washington and the Pentagon have been very methodical about reaching this stage of thinking. What he’s describing is terrifying. The outgrowth of what Obama, our Nobel Peace Prize winner, started in 2009 was the beginning of a process of modernizing our entire nuclear arsenal; it was without doubt the most dangerous and mistaken policy of his ill-fated tenure. Hallinan is describing a new ‘First Strike Option,’ which consists of a limited strike on Russia with our new modified ‘superfuze’ missiles to knock out Russia’s land-based silos. Read this scenario to believe it. Only Strangelove would.
In our documentary, Putin makes it quite clear for the viewer what we have wrought with the ABMs (anti-ballistic missiles) in Eastern Europe. It has wrecked the sense of parity that had existed for so long. See the map in the film and study the stranglehold the US has put on Russia with our nuclear arsenal, and you’ll begin to understand how you might feel if you were Russian. Stephen Cohen, in his conversation with John Batchelor, soberly reminds us of the basic US allegations against Russia and Putin in particular. And he also reminds us how we came back to this weird place in time again (circa 1945-54), wherein 6 of these allegations pass as evidence. Shades of Joe McCarthy.
Daniel Lazare, in “The Scandal Hidden Behind Russia-gate,” examines the lies of CrowdStrike and the Atlantic Council.
In all the outing of people around this issue, why haven’t we investigated John Brennan, ex of the CIA, for leaking the original Flynn story? Why haven’t the MSM linked Vault 7 to this man and his little lapdog James Clapper? I always disliked their visages alongside Obama as he was launching his drone campaigns, torture denials, etc. But Brennan’s is truly a face that belongs up there in Orwell’s literature, a face of extraordinary hostility and ugliness -- in other words, the face of war.

Bill Clinton branded Labour’s Jeremy Corbyn the "maddest person in the room" in a speech he gave explaining the resurgence of left-wing politics in Europe and America.
Documents released by Wikileaks show the former President joked that when Mr Corbyn won his leadership contest, it appeared Labour had just "got a guy off the street" to run the party.

He compared Mr Corbyn’s rise to the success of Alexis Tsipras in Greece and Bernie Sanders in US primaries.
In one section of the speech, Mr Clinton said Labour had disposed of one potentially successful leader, David Miliband, because they were "mad at him for being part of Tony Blair’s government in the Iraq War".
He went on: "They moved to the left and put his brother in as leader because the British labor movement wanted it.
"When David Cameron thumped him in the election, they reached the interesting conclusion that they lost because they hadn’t moved far left enough, and so they went out and practically got a guy off the street to be the leader of the British Labor Party [sic]."
Mr Clinton added: "But what that is reflective of – the same thing happened in the Greek election – when people feel they’ve been shafted and they don’t expect anything to happen anyway, they just want the maddest person in the room to represent them."
