Deze alarmerende feiten van een hoge Amerikaanse militair staan haaks op de geruststellende propaganda van de Nederlandse opiniemaker Geert Mak dat de VS ‘decennialang als ordebewaker en politieagent [fungeerde] – om maar te zwijgen van alle hulp die het uitdeelde.’
Mak's vertekening van de werkelijkheid is een noodzakelijk onderdeel van wat in de Angelsaksische wereld de 'conspiracy of silence' heet.

Deze 'conspiracy of silence' manifesteert zich bijna nergens zo chronisch als in de berichtgeving van de westerse 'vrije pers' met betrekking tot de voortdurende Israelische schendingen van het internationaal recht en het feit dat de 'Joodse natie' met zijn biologische, nucleaire- en offensieve chemische massavernietigingswapens z'n buurlanden bedreigd en het Westen chanteert. Een van de voornaamste redenen is dat Israel en de Occupied Territories als testgebied gelden voor de toekomstige oorlogen over de tbeschikking over de almaar slinkende vitale grondstoffen en de groeiende concurrentie van China en Rusland op de wereldmarkt. Vandaar dat het zionistisch regime zonder westerse repercussies al decennia-lang kan stelen en moorden. Zo mag Iran van de EU en de VS door het nucleair Israel bedreigd worden vanwege vanwege het niet bewezen ontwikkelen van een eigen kernwapen, dat ironisch genoeg Iran zou kunnen beschermen tegen de agressie van de zionistische kernwapen-staat. Omdat tegenwoordig de meerderheid van de wereldbevolking in stedelijke conglomeraten leeft, functioneert Israel met zijn bezette en belegerde Palestijnse gebieden als het perfecte testterrein voor de toekomstige 'urban warfare.' Daar leren de legers van NAVO-landen weliswaar niet hoe ze oorlogen kunnen winnen, maar hoe ze conflicten beperkt en daarmee beheersbaar kunnen maken. Moderne gewapende conflicten worden niet langer meer uitgevochten via grote tankslagen en optrekkende legers in betrekkelijk open ruimtes, maar via een stedelijke guerrilla-strijd en zogeheten low-intensity operations, hetgeen voor staten betekent dat
these operations are usually conducted against non-state actors and are given terms like counter-insurgency, anti-subversion, and peacekeeping. Violent non-state actors often conduct low-intensity operations against states, often in insurgencies.
Gewapende conflicten zijn zelfs voor het zwaarst bewapende land in de geschiedenis der mensheid, de VS, niet meer te winnen, zoals de ervaringen vanaf de Korea-oorlog en de Vietnam-oorlog hebben aangetoond. Een wereldbevolking van meer dan 7 miljard mensen, van wie de helft straatarm is, kan niet met geweld worden beheerst. Ook de huurlingen-staat Israel is niet meer in staat een overwinning te behalen, zoals bleek uit zijn gewelddadige inval in Libanon in 2006 en uit zijn almaar voortdurende terreur op de bezette Westbank en tegen de belegerde Gaza-strook. In zijn essay Frontier Architecture schrijft de Joods-Israelische architect Eyal Weizman naar aanleiding hiervan:
at the beginning of 2006, Israel’s Chief of Staff Dan Halutz confirmed that the IDF has grown to see the conflict with the Palestinians as unresolvable and permanent. It has accordingly geared itself to operate within an environment saturated with conflict and within a future of permanent violence. In the absence of political ‘solution’ and the possibility for a decisive military result, the IDF sees its role merely in terms of ‘managing the conflict,’ keeping it on a flame low enough for Israeli society to be able to live and prosper within the conflict.
Met het oog op het groeiende gewapende verzet tegen de toenemende wereldwijde kloof tussen arm en rijk is sinds de val van de Sovjet-Unie de NAVO niet alleen in ledenaantal bijna verdubbeld, maar veel belangrijker nog, van een defensief bondgenootschap omgebouwd tot een offensieve militaire organisatie dat onder aanvoering van Washington overal ter wereld met maximaal geweld kan worden ingezet om de belangen van de westerse elite uit te breiden dan wel te beschermen. Zo wordt bijvoorbeeld in alle openheid het EU-Associatieverdrag met Israel, zonder enige ophef te veroorzaken onder de mainstream-journalisten, telkens weer opgewaardeerd waardoor de zionistische staat beloond wordt voor de schendingen van het oorlogsrecht en de mensenrechten, terwijl toch in artikel 2 van dat verdrag expliciet vermeld staat dat het is 'based on respect for human rights and democratic principles' die als 'essential elements' worden aangeduid. Dankzij dit Associatieverdrag is de Europese Unie van 'Geen Jorwert zonder Brussel' de grootste handelspartner van Israel. Het Associatieverdrag bepaalt dat beide partijen de mensenrechten dienen te respecteren. Desondanks wordt het verdrag niet opgeschort, laat staan opgezegd. Ook Washington houdt het zionistisch Apartheidsregime financieel in het zadel. 20 maart 2013 berichtte de Israelische kwaliteitskrant Haaretz:

Maar over het 'landjepik' van Israel weigert dit eervolle lid van Hoflands 'politiek-literaire elite' zich uit te spreken. En over de schaamteloze rol van zijn neoliberale Europese Unie met betrekking tot de Israelische terreur zwijgt de zoon van een dominee met antisemitische opvattingen al even hard als alle andere opportunisten. Trilateral Agreement
I have the impression that Putin is not just aiming at 'taking back' Ukraine from the West. Actually he intends to use the Ukraine issue in a very subtle way to establish a trilateral agreement — EU (or at least part of it), Ukraine, Russia.
Russian spokesmen and a number of Russian controlled media have hinted repeatedly to this solution. A discussion on this very issue has taken place and has led to an internal debate among EU countries (especially, don’t be surprised, Germany, whose relation is the biggest prize for Russia).
Maybe some preliminary accords were 'pre-discussed' with Europeans leaders now eager to get a larger margin of sovereign autonomy. This scared the hell out of Washington and London despite the many signs of thawing between Moscow and the West. Or better it has scared the hell out of a certain still very strong faction within the Anglo-American establishment. Hence a series of pressures have been applied to European countries, especially Germany. Germany has been asked to give a 'proof of love.'
For the Anglo-Americans, namely the US and Britain, the EU must be deprived of any independent ability to move in the direction of an Eurasian strategy.
The scheme invoked by Donald Rumsfeld (use 'New' Europe against 'Old' Europe, i.e. against Europe) still is the party line. Europe must be weakened — suffocated by the embrace of Wall Street and the City of London, pushed into an escalating masochistic looting of its own economy and population, rocked by scandals to deprive it of any effective leadership, and constantly involved in aggressive military adventures — but above all, any sign –even the mildest – of cooperation with Russia must be dissuaded in the most energetic way. That is a line that must never be crossed. So, with the ongoing Ukrainian crisis we see at what level of open interference and blackmail the Anglo-American representatives can reach in order to impose to Europe 'what is good for them.'
In fact, Germany has everything to gain from a relation with [Ukraine and Russia. Not so the EU bureaucracy that is controlled totally (not partially) by the big banks. See for example, Jose Manuel Barroso who is ending his mandate in the Spring.
Russia has even more to gain from a relation with Europe that is not totally subjected to the diktats of Brussels/bankers/NATO/ Supranational Powers. It would open the door to a relation free of NATO, IMF etc; a relation more concentrated on the direct national interests of the various countries.
If you look carefully, you will see that Putin has repeatedly been making these advances of solving the Ukrainian problems by direct, non-mediated relations with Germany and certain European countries. Ukraine could become a sort of common zone when a new kind of sovereign cooperation could be experimented. Not surprising, the reaction is ferocious.
But Putin seems to think he can 'win the game':

Het moet toch duidelijk zijn dat Europa niets te winnen heeft met de confrontatie-koers die het naar hegemonie strevende militair-industrieel complex van Washington en Wall Street genoodzaakt zijn te varen. We hebben het hierbij over een gewelddadige confrontatie met Rusland en China, dus met een groot deel van Azië, zodat 'For the Anglo-Americans, namely the US and Britain, the EU must be deprived of any independent ability to move in the direction of an Eurasian strategy.' Hiermee wordt tevens duidelijk hoe onnozel Geert Mak's hetze tegen 'meneer Poetin' is, de EU van 'Geen Jorwert zonder Brussel' is pas levensvatbaar wanneer het een eigen politiek beleid kan voeren, dat allereerst de eigen belangen behartigt en niet die van de Amerikaanse economische en politieke elite. Maar omdat de Nederlandse intelligentsia met alle winden meewaait, en lijdt aan een groot gebrek aan geopolitiek en historisch inzicht zweeft een intellectueel lichtgewicht als Geert Mak moeiteloos naar boven. Hij en zijn mainstream-publiek begrijpen niet dat de uiteindelijke doeleinden van een imperium als de VS geopolitiek zijn, of zoals Henry Kissinger in de jaren tachtig tijdens de Iran-Irakoorlog verklaarde: 'The ultimate American interest in the war is that both should lose.' Verdeel en heers is sinds de Romeinen de politieke tactiek van Europa om de alleenheerschappij veilig te stellen. Het mag geen verwondering wekken dat ook 'the US carried out this policy by assisting one belligerent and then the other.' Op die manier werd het regime van Saddam Hoessein logistiek gesteund met ondermeer satellietkaarten over de situatie achter het Iraanse front, en vervolgens het regime van de Ayatollahs, dat in het geheim via Israel de allernieuwste wapens kreeg. De veronderstelling van Mak dat het Westen gedreven wordt door nobele motieven en 'meneer Poetin' door primitieve driften getuigt van een verbijsterende infantiliteit. Terwijl toch de door Mak, vanwege zijn 'upbeat,' zo bewonderde Amerikaanse neoconservatieve columnist Thomas Friedman in een van zijn 'optimistische' buien over het Machiavellistische uitgangspunt van de Amerikaanse buitenlandse politiek schreef:
De verborgen hand van de markt zal nooit werken zonder een verborgen vuist. McDonalds kan niet floreren zonder McDonnell Douglas, de ontwerper van de F-15,
waaraan deze opiniemaker van de New York Times toevoegde:
De verborgen vuist die de wereld veilig houdt voor de technologie van Silicon Valley heet het Amerikaanse Leger, Luchtmacht, Marine en het Mariniers Korps.

Deze vaak geciteerde uitspraak van de bekendste Amerikaanse columnist kan Mak niet zijn ontgaan. Gezien zijn uiterst positieve kwalificatie van het werk van Friedman, moeten we er van uitgaan dat Mak deze mening deelt. Dus wanneer 'onze eigen Geert Mak,' zoals zijn fans hem betitelen, in Reizen zonder John (2012) stelt dat Amerikaanse presidenten 'een begin van orde brachten in de mondiale politiek en economie' dan wordt deze 'orde' van wat Mak zelf de 'vrije markt' noemt 'veilig' gesteld door 'de verborgen vuist' van 'het Amerikaanse Leger, Luchtmacht, Marine en het Mariniers Korps,' waarover in 1966 David Monroe Shoup, Commandant of the Marine Corps intens walgde, en wel omdat hij had gezien hoe bloedig en meedogenloos deze door Mak geprezen 'orde' in werkelijkheid functioneert. Vanuit Mak's rustige serre tegenover het beroemde bruggetje van Bartlehiem is het makkelijk wegdromen over al deze terreur, maar zodra hijzelf zou worden geconfronteerd met de consequenties van zijn woorden, dan zal de bestseller-auteur niet meer gedachteloos een en ander optikken. Zelfs Geert Mak kan via Google binnen een seconde over allerlei vitale feiten beschikken. Als opiniemaker kan hij niet claimen het allemaal niet te hebben geweten, en dat hij nog bijvoorbeeld nooit van generaal Shoup heeft gehoord, of van één van al die andere goed geïnformeerde bronnen die ik de afgelopen jaren heb geciteerd. Een 'deskundige' als hij die nu nog beweert dat de VS na 1945 ‘decennialang als ordebewaker en politie agent [fungeerde]’ is niet te goeder trouw. Er kleeft bloed aan zijn handen: voorafgaand aan het moorden komen de woorden die het moorden legitimeren.

In het geval van de Verenigde Staten is dat het militair industrieel complex, waarvan de macht door niemand meer wordt gecontroleerd. In zijn Nawoord schreef Tim Weiner in 2008 dat
In 2005 en 2006 het 109e Congres er niet in [slaagde] om een wet aan te nemen aangaande de machtiging van inlichtingendiensten, een basiswet waarin de manier geregeld wordt waarop de CIA en de andere zestien inlichtingendiensten van het land hun geld besteden en hun zaken aanpakken. Het was een ware ramp: in de dertig jaar sinds de inlichtingencommissies van het Congres werden ingesteld waren ze nooit zo in gebreke gebleven. De commissies moeten hun werk doen: ze moeten indringende vragen stellen, antwoorden eisen en vervolgens verslag uitbrengen aan de burgerij. Tijdens een groot deel van de afgelopen dertig jaar hebben ze deze plicht al behoorlijk verzaakt, maar sinds 11 september (2001, svh) grenst hun gedrag aan misdadige nalatigheid.
Via een schijnbare omweg zijn we terug bij het feit dat Mak weigert zich uit te spreken over de politieke, diplomatieke, economische en zelfs militaire steun van de EU en dus ook van Nederland aan de huurlingen-staat Israel. Het gebruik maken van 'Joden' in Israel voor de belangen van de christelijke cultuur heeft van de zionisten, zoals Hannah Arendt terecht opmerkte 'shtadlones' gemaakt, de vroegere ‘hofjoden’ die de christelijke machthebbers financieel ten dienste stonden, in de vergeefse hoop en verwachting beschermd te worden zodra de Joden weer eens de dupe dreigden te worden van het christelijke antisemitisme. Joden dus in de zogeheten diaspora,
die de zionisten ooit eens zo bitter hadden gehaat en zo fel hadden gehekeld. Nu kenden ook de zionisten politiek gesproken geen betere plaats meer dan de foyers van de machtigen en ze kenden geen betere basis voor hun overeenkomsten dan de goede diensten aan te bieden als agenten van buitenlandse belangen,'
aldus de profetische woorden van Arendt.
Als de joden in Palestina kunnen worden belast met de taak om voor een deel zorg te dragen voor de Amerikaanse belangen in dat gedeelte van de wereld dan zou inderdaad de fameuze uitspraak van opperrechter Brandeis nog bewaarheid worden: men moet een zionist zijn om een perfecte Amerikaanse patriot te zijn.

De voorbeelden van Sparta en soortgelijke experimenten zullen naar alle waarschijnlijkheid niet afschrikwekkend werken voor een generatie Europese joden die de vernedering van Hitlers slachthuizen proberen uit te wissen met de recent veroverde waardigheid van strijd en de triomf van een overwinning… Buitensporige uitgaven voor bewapening en mobilisatie zouden niet alleen de jonge joodse economie verstikken en het einde betekenen van de sociale experimenten van het land, maar ook leiden tot een groeiende afhankelijkheid van de gehele bevolking van financiële en andere steun van Amerikaanse joden...
Joodse overwinningen worden niet beoordeeld in het licht van de huidige realiteit in het Midden-Oosten, maar in het licht van een zeer ver verleden. De huidige oorlog geeft iedere jood ‘zo’n genoegdoening als we in eeuwen niet hebben gekend, misschien niet sinds de dagen van de Makkabeeën’ (Ben-Goerion). Dit gevoel van een historisch momentum, deze vastberadenheid om deze recente gebeurtenissen te beschouwen als een definitief vonnis van de geschiedenis, wordt ongetwijfeld versterkt door succes, maar succes is niet de bron ervan. De joden trokken ten strijde tegen de Britse bezettingstroepen en de Arabische legers met de ‘geest van Masada,’ geïnspireerd door de leuze ‘of anders zullen we ten onder gaan,’ vastbesloten om elk compromis af te wijzen, zelfs ten koste van nationale zelfmoord. Vandaag de dag spreekt de Israelische regering van voldongen feiten, van het recht dat uit de loop van een geweer komt, van militaire noodzaak, van de wet van verovering, terwijl twee jaar geleden dezelfde mensen in het Joods Agentschap van gerechtigheid spraken en van de vreselijke behoeften van het joodse volk. Ondertussen blijven de polder-intellectuelen zwijgen, omdat ze zich op geen enkele manier verantwoordelijk achten voor de steun van de EU, die namens hen wordt gegeven aan de dagelijkse Israelische terreur tegen de Palestijnse bevolking. Daarbij vergeet een opiniemaker als Geert Mak dat ook het antisemitisme van zijn ouders een schakeltje was in de aanzwellende terreur tegen joodse Europeanen die in de holocaust uitliep. In plaats van een toontje lager te zingen, meent hij voortdurend het aangeboren recht te hebben om als 'Chroniqueur van Europa' de stem van de vrede, rationaliteit en moraliteit te zijn, die het Avondland de weg naar de verlossing kan wijzen. Het merkwaardige excuus voor ondermeer de antisemitische houding van zijn ouders was het merkwaardige argument dat ze niet wisten in een interbellum te leven. Ironisch genoeg weet ook Mak junior niet dat hij in een interbellum leeft, en dat hij juist daarom een moreel fatsoenlijke keuze moet maken. Terwijl hij, net als zijn ouders destijds, meedrijft met de mainstream hoopt hij te kunnen ontkomen aan een 'controversiële' keuze, een morele keuze tegen de alles verwoestende krachten die de wereld nu beheersen. In zijn essaybundel Stemverheffing (1992) stelde John Berger het als volgt:
De veronderstellingen waarvan het mediabedrijf uitgaat namens het publiek zijn behalve blind ook verblindend… Misschien is het precies op dit punt dat onze vorm van democratie een langzame dood sterft. Als dat zo is, dan als gevolg van een weigering. De weigering van het mediabedrijf om het feit te erkennen en te laten doorwerken dat het publiek in zijn hart weet hoe de wereld in elkaar zit… De reden van deze weigering die een bedreiging is voor onze vorm van democratie, de reden waarom het mediabedrijf stelselmatig onderschat wat we gemeen hebben, die reden is steeds dezelfde: de normloze drang tot verkopen…
Wat ik wil is dat mensen zich ervan bewust worden hoe voddig het mediabedrijf ze bedient als publiek. Voddig, omdat met de waardigheid van kijker en bekekene de vloer wordt aangeveegd. Herstel iets van die waardigheid – gun mensen de tijd, verschuif het gebruikelijke zwaartepunt – en slecht nieuws wordt van een onderbreking de waarheid. Er zijn tal van waarheden waarvoor geen directe oplossing bestaat. Het woord ‘oplossing’ raakt niet aan het tragische. Wíj moeten in aanraking komen met het tragische en ons erdoor laten raken. We zouden er misschien door veranderen als we het benoemden. Ook benoemd blijft het tragische tragisch, maar slecht nieuws zou het niet worden. Alleen van daaruit is een realistische politiek mogelijk.
Goddank zijn er nog fatsoenlijke mensen voor wie normen en waarden wel degelijk gelden, zoals de Zuid-Afrikaanse hoogleraar Internationaal Recht, John Dugard.

Following the recurrence of the Palestinian intifada in late 2000, John Dugard was appointed as Chairman of a UN Commission on Human Rights inquiry commission on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories. In 2001, he was appointed United Nations Special Rapporteur to the commission on 'the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied by Israel since 1967.' He was charged with submitting annual reports and recommendations to the UN concerning the situation of international human rights and humanitarian law.
In its first special session in July 2006, the Human Rights Council dispatched an urgent fact-finding mission headed by Dugard to report on the situation in the Palestinian territories. On 26 September 2006, Dugard reported that the 'standards of human rights in the Palestinian territories have fallen to intolerable new levels.'
Beginning in 2008, he served as Judge ad hoc on the International Court of Justice…
In a report released in February 2007, Dugard 'announced that Israel's policies resemble those of apartheid.' 'It is difficult to resist the conclusion that many of Israel's laws and practices violate the 1966 Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Racial Discrimination,' says the report. Dugard also stated, 'Discrimination against Palestinians occurs
in many fields. Moreover, the 1973 International Convention on the Suppression and Punishment of the Crime of Apartheid appears to be violated by many practices, particularly those denying freedom of movement to Palestinians.'
Referring to Israel's actions in the occupied West Bank, he wrote, 'Can it seriously be denied that the purpose [...] is to establish and maintain domination by one racial group (Jews) over another racial group (Palestinians) and systematically oppressing them? Israel denies that this is its intention or purpose. But such an intention or purpose may be inferred from the actions described in this report.'
Perhaps the most striking aspect of the Israel/Palestine conflict is that it is so little discussed in the West, particularly in the United States. Unlike the human rights situation in Zimbabwe, Sudan, Birma, Tibet and Cuba it is a taboo topic in most quarters. Whereas human rights in apartheid South Africa was vigorously debated in the media, universities, churches, shareholders meetings and social and professional gatherings the subject of human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT) is studiously avoided. This contrasts with the position in Israel itself, where all issues are examined and debated in the media and public life… But in the West one is not so welcome to express opinions on this subject. It seems that one can address real issues in Israel itself without the risk of being labeled as anti-semitic, but in the West it is not so. In many quarters any frank criticism of Israel's treatment of the Palestinians is viewed as anti-semitic.

June 07, 2014 "ICH" - If there were any doubts that Western 'leaders' live in a fantasy make-believe world constructed out of their own lies, the G-7 meeting and 70th anniversary celebration of the Normandy landing dispelled the doubts.
The howlers issuing from these occasions are enough to split your sides. Obama and his lap dog Cameron described the Normandy landing on June 6, 1944, as 'the greatest liberation force that the world has ever known' and took all the credit for the US and Britain for the defeat of Hitler. No mention was made of the Soviet Union and the Red Army, which for three years prior to the Normandy landing had been fighting and defeating the Wehrmacht.
The Germans lost World War II at the Battle of Stalingrad, which was fought from August 23, 1942 until February 2, 1943, when most of the remnants of the powerful German Sixth Army surrendered, including 22 generals.
Nineteen months previously the largest invasion force ever assembled on planet earth invaded Russia across a one thousand mile front. Three million crack German troops; 7,500 artillery units, 19 panzer divisions with 3,000 tanks, and 2,500 aircraft rolled across Russia for 14 months.
By June 1944, three years later, very little of this force was left. The Red Army had chewed it up. When the so-called 'allies' (a term which apparently excludes Russia) landed in France, there was little to resist them. The best forces remaining to Hitler were on the Russian front, which collapsed day by day as the Red Army approached Berlin.
The Red Army won the war with Germany. The Americans and the British showed up after the Wehrmacht was exhausted and in tatters and could offer little resistance. Joseph Stalin believed that Washington and London stayed out of the war until the last minute and left Russia with the burden of defeating Germany.
Hollywood and popular writers have, of course, buried the facts. Americans have all sorts of movies, such as 'A Bridge Too Far,' that portray insignificant events, however heroic, as turning points in the war. Nevertheless, the facts are clear. The war was won on the Eastern front by Russia. Hollywood’s movies are fun, but they are nonsense.
Russia is again on the outs with 'the world community,' because Obama’s plan to seize Ukraine and to evict Russia from its Black Sea base in Crimea has come a cropper. Crimea has been a part of Russia for as long as the US has existed. Khrushchev, a Ukrainian, stuck Crimea into the Ukrainian Socialist Republic in 1954 when Russia and Ukraine were part of the same country.
When the Washington-imposed stooge government in Kiev recently declared that it was abolishing the use of the Russian language and arresting Ukrainians who had dual Russian citizenship and began tearing down Russian war memorials consecrated to the liberation of Ukraine from the Nazis, the people in Crimea used the ballot box to disassociate from Washington’s stooge government in Kiev, first voting their independence and then voting for reunification with their mother country.
Washington, and the other G-7 countries following Washington’s orders, described this Crimean act of self-determination, which is exactly comparable to the act of self-determination declared by Britain’s American colonies, to be a case of 'Russian invasion and annexation.' Similar efforts to disassociate from Kiev are underway in other former Russian territories that today comprise eastern and southern Ukraine. Washington has equated self-determination in eastern and southern Ukraine with 'terrorism' and has encouraged its stooge in Kiev to use military violence against protesting civilians. The reason for branding separatists 'terrorists' is to make it OK to kill them.
It is extraordinary to any learned person that the President of the United States and the titular heads of state of the Western European countries would publicly declare such blatant lies to the world. The world has historians. The world has peoples whose knowledge vastly exceeds that of the 'mainstream media,' a.k.a., the Ministry of Propaganda, or, as Gerald Celente brands them, 'the presstitutes.' Whatever name we use, the Western media is a collection of well paid whores. They lie for money, dinner party invitations, and speaking invitations with large honorariums and book contracts with large advances. I know. They tried to recruit me.
Notice how narrowly Washington defines 'the world community.' The 'world community' consists of the Group of 7. That’s it. Seven countries make up the 'world community.' The 'world community' consists of six white countries and Washington’s puppet state of Japan. The 'world community' is the US, Canada, Britain, Germany, France, Italy, and Japan. The other 190 countries are not part of Washington’s 'world community.' In the neocon doctrine, they are not even part of humanity.
The 'world community' doesn’t have the population of single excluded countries, such as China or India. I haven’t done the calculation, but probably the land mass of Russia itself exceeds the land mass of the 'world community.'
So, what is this 'world community?'
The “world community” is the assemblage of US vassal states. Britain, France, and Germany were important on the 20th century scene. Their histories are studied in universities. The populations had a decent standard of living, although not for all citizens. Their past is the reason for their present importance.
In effect, these countries were propelled forward by history, or by the history important to the West. Japan, being an appendage of Washington, has tried to become 'western.' It is extraordinary how such a proud, war-like people became nothing.
As I have finally stopped laughing at the presumed non-role of Russia in the defeat of Hitler, let’s return to the G-7 meeting. The Big Happening of this meeting was Russia’s exclusion and the shrinkage of the G-8 to the G-7.
This was the first time in 17 years that Russia was not allowed to participate in the meeting of which Russia is a member. Why?
Russia is being punished. Russia is being isolated from the 7 countries that the White House Fool thinks constitute 'the world community.'
Obama is angry that his National Security Council and the morons he appointed to the State Department and UN were so poorly educated that they did not know that much of the Ukraine consists of former Russian provinces inhabited by Russians. These ignorant Obama-appointed morons thought that they could grab Crimea, evict Russia, and leave Russia without access to the Mediterranean, thus unable to hold on to its naval base in Tartus, Syria, the easier for Washington to invade Syria.
Crimea has been part of Russia since Russia completed the reconquest from the Tartars. I remember the Tarter, or Tater, ethnics from my visit to Tamerlane the Great’s (Timur as he was also known) tomb in Samarkand 53 years ago. Today Tamerlane’s city is refurbished as a tourist site. 53 years ago it was a desolate place in ruins, overgrown with trees growing out of the tops of the minarets.
As Obama’s plan to seize Ukraine failed, like every one of his other plans has failed, Washington’s spokesmen for the vested private interests have seized on the opportunity to demonize Putin and Russia and to restart the Cold War. Obama and his Group of 7 puppets or vassals used the occasion to threaten Russia with real sanctions, in place of the present propaganda sanctions that have no effect. According to Obama and his British lap dog, Putin must somehow prevent the Russian populations of eastern and southern Ukraine from protesting their subservience to a neo-fascist government in Kiev backed by Washington, or else.
Putin is supposed to embrace the Oligarch, a former minister of the government that Washington overthrew, put in office by a fake vote in which turnout was a small percent of the population. Putin is supposed to kiss this corrupt Oligarch on both cheeks, pay Ukraine’s natural gas bills and forgive its debts. In addition, Russia is supposed to repudiate the Crimean people, evict them from their re-unity with Russia and hand them over to the neo-Nazi Right Sector to be eliminated as retribution for Russia’s victory over Nazi Germany, for whom some Western Ukrainians fought. In exchange, Washington and NATO will put anti-ballistic missile bases on Ukraine’s border with Russia in order to protect Europe from nonexistent Iranian nuclear ICBMs.
This is supposed to be a win-win deal for Russia.
The Obama regime used its well-paid NGOs in Ukraine to overthrow an elected, democratic government, a government no more corrupt than those in Western or Eastern Europe or Washington.
The political morons who have England, France, Germany, and Italy in their hands are wagging their fists at Russia, warning of more, this time real, sanctions. Do these morons really want their energy supplies cut off? There is no prospect, despite the propagandistic claims, of Washington supplying the energy on which Germany industry depends and on which Europeans depend so that they do not freeze in the winter.
Sanctions on Russia will wreck Europe and have little, if any, effect on Russia. Russia is already moving, with China and the BRICS, outside the dollar payments mechanism.
As the demand for dollars drops, the dollar’s exchange value will drop. Initially, Washington will be able to force its vassals to support the dollar, but eventually this will become impossible.
What the White House Fool, the neoconized National Security Council, the presstitute media, and subservient Congress are doing is to support and uphold the policies based on hubris and arrogance that are leading the US into the abyss.
An abyss is like a black hole. You don’t get out.
Washington’s lies are so blatant and transparent that Washington is destroying its own credibility. Consider the NSA spying. Documents released by Snowden and Greenwald make it completely clear that Washington spies not only on government leaders and ordinary people but also on foreign businesses in order to advance US commercial and financial interests. That the US steals Chinese business secrets is not in doubt. So what does Washington do? Washington not only denies what the documents prove but turns the charge around and indicts five Chinese generals for spying on US corporations.
The only purpose of these indictments hyped by the US attorney general is propaganda.The indictments are otherwise totally meaningless, not merely false. China is not about to turn over five Chinese generals to the liars in Washington. For the presstitute media the story is a way to move the NSA’s spying out of the spotlight. China is substituted for the NSA as the guilty party.
Why doesn’t China, Brazil, Germany and every other country issue arrest warrants for NSA’s top officials, for Obama, and for the members of the congressional oversight committee? Why do other countries always allow Washington to control the explanation with propaganda first strikes?
Americans are very susceptible to propaganda. They seem to have a special taste for it. Consider the hate whipped up against Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, a US soldier just released by the Taliban in a prisoner exchange with the US. The hatred and bloodlust that the presstitute media have whipped up against Bergdahl has caused his hometown to cancel the celebration of his release. The press engineered hatred of Bergdahl has spilled over into threats against Hailey, Idaho.
What is the basis for the attacks on Bergdahl? Apparently, the answer is that Bergdahl, like pro-football star Pat Tillman who turned down a $3.6 million contract to join the Army Rangers and go to defend freedom in Afghanistan, came down with a case of doubts about the war. Originally Pat Tillman’s death was attributed to his heroic action and enemy fire. Then it emerged that Tillman was a victim of 'friendly fire.' Many concluded that he was murdered, because the government did not want a sports hero speaking out about the war. As Bergdahl is off the battlefield, he has to be murdered in the press–like Russia, China, Iran, Putin, Assad, Crimeans, and the Russian-speaking population in Ukraine.
In America hate and the cultivation of hate is alive and well. But not a single moral virtue is.

Ik moest niet doen alsof Van Tijn eigenhandig al dat huisvuil in de Amsterdamse grachten had gekieperd. Weer een jaar later kwam ik Geert tegen. Hij schudde mij hartelijk de hand en zei dat hij mij alsnog gelijk wilde geven: dat burgermeesterschap van Van Tijn had inderdaad weinig voorgesteld. Het was erg aardig om dat zo ruiterlijk te erkennen, maar toen Mak uitgroeide tot het nationale knuffeldier begon ik een patroon te zien.

Mak heeft altijd voor iedereen een goed woordje over. Hij is solidair met bobo’s en met krakers, met de boven én de onderkant, met het bestuur én met de basis. Hij is de gewezen rebel in het keurige jasje, maar zonder das. Mak is beetje als die leraar, die zijn eigen leerlingen opriep tegen hemzelf te demonstreren. Toen Mak in Buitenhof verscheen om te pleiten vóór Europa, refereerde hij onmiddellijk aan zijn eigen anarchistische jeugd. Typisch Geert. Machtshebbers horen het altijd graag wanneer iemand tot inkeer is gekomen en de minister, die tegenover hem zat, lachte fijntjes.
Inmiddels is Mak zo hoog gestegen dat Grote Europese Denkers onder zijn leiding, en ten overstaan van Koningin Beatrix, op Paleis Noordeinde over Europa hebben gediscussieerd. Er is zelfs een boekje over verschenen dat Paleis Europa heet. Direct na de inleiding van ons staatshoofd komt Geert Mak zelf aan het woord, hetgeen aangeeft dat Mak een Loe de Jong en een Harry Mulisch in één is geworden.
Het is een wat hooggestemd en saai boekje, waarin je de gebruikelijke platitudes kunt lezen. Zo schrijft Beatrix: “De verdere eenwording van Europa betekent niet dat nationale cultuur en nationale identiteit aan belang inboeten”. Dat is overduidelijk niet waar, en je vraagt je af wie het staatshoofd zulke onzin laat oppennen. Een verdere eenwording zal onafwendbaar ten koste gaan van de Nederlandse cultuur. Het is veel verstandiger om daar eerlijk over te zijn, en misschien is het ook helemaal niet erg wanneer onze kinderen Philip Roth gaan lezen in plaats van Jan Siebelink.
Geert Mak is nu een hartstochtelijk pleitbezorger voor Europa. Hij voorziet een sombere toekomst als politici hun verantwoordelijk niet durven nemen – weer zo’n stopverfuitdrukking. Geert stuurt de golf aan, die Nederland in het Europese gareel moet terugbrengen. Zelf voel ik mij nog altijd een scepticus. Het afgelopen jaar was ik eerst in de Verenigde Staten en vervolgens reisde ik naar Polen. Als u mij vraagt in welk van die twee landen ik mij het meeste thuis voelde, dan is het antwoord ondubbelzinnig: Amerika! Veel liever ben ik in New York, Vermont of Californië dan in Polen, Slowakije of Roemenië. Als de Nederlandse regering morgen onverhoeds mocht besluiten ons land aan te melden als de 51ste staat van Amerika, dan zal ik dat voornemen uit volle overtuiging steunen.
Stel je de geweldige voordelen voor, die wij zouden genieten als wij bij de Verenigde Staten horen.
Eindelijk een multiculturele samenleving en toch een eigen identiteit! De beste universiteiten voor onze kinderen. Onze macht zou niet langer uitsluitend moreel zijn. Stel je eens voor een Amerikaanse minister van Buitenlandse Zaken, woonachtig in Amsterdam, die komt vertellen dat zojuist is besloten de oorlog in Irak te beëindigen. Eindelijk weer een Nobelprijs!
In deze tijd van globalisering, waarin al onze sinterklaascadeaus van Chinese makelij zijn en waarin radiologen te Bombay de röntgenfoto’s van het Prinsengrachtziekenhuis beoordelen, is dat hele verlangen naar Europese eenwording niets anders dan een vorm van benauwend provincialisme.
Ik voorspel dat Geert binnen vijf jaar ook deze fout zal toegeven. Dat gebeurt dan niet op Paleis Noordeinde, maar op het Witte Huis.
