In 1765 schreef de Amerikaanse auteur William Smith in Historical Account of Bouquet's Expedition Against the Ohio Indians over de oorspronkelijke bewoners van Amerika: 'The love of liberty is innate in the savage; and seems the ruling passion in the state of nature. His desires and wants, being few, are easily gratified, and leave him much time to spare, which he would spend in idleness, if hunger did not force him te hunt.'

Het spreekt voor zich dat de puriteinse christenen die het land van de Indianen stalen en de oorspronkelijke bewoners, die wisten te overleven, in kampen opsloot, niet van deze lakse mentaliteit waren gediend. Er moest hard gewerkt worden, veel geproduceerd worden en veel geconsumeerd, net zo hard en lang tot de blanke mens met handen en voeten aan het systeem was gebonden, de mens in een permanente staat van oorlog met de natuur verkeerde, en hij totaal geen vrijheid meer bezat. Dat was pas vooruitgang en beschaving.

I do belong to this group of Israelfriends as well; same story as
above from “”renate”": the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jakob showed me everything about our Jewish roots, as well as all about the terrible antisemitsm of the official Christian Churches.
I feel a lot of pain about this history and I do ask every Jew to forgive me, that I have such a terrible past.
I was not part of it nor did I agree with it on any way, but it feels bad to have such a background.
So now I keep Tora with my family, I celebrate Shabbath and all the Feasts of the Lord, eat as kosher as the Bibles says.
I am an interdenominational pastor, but since this discoveries in the Jewish roots, I call myself a jewish-christian pastor, because I am with all my heart in Tora.
Together we have to stop the moslims from taking over everywhere and the best thing I can do is telling them about the real God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jakob.
And showing them how terrible this koran message is, so they know from that moment on, that allah is only some moongod/jihadgod and all the moslims have to choose, whether they serve this allah or the only true God.

De schrijver van deze reactie heeft gelijk: we hebben hier te maken met een christen-fundamentalist met extremistische opvattingen. Juist daarom is zijn reactie ook zo interessant. In feite beaamt Ben Kok mijn stelling dat het christendom de voedingsbron was en nog steeds is van het antisemitisme. Alleen wordt dat antisemitisme nu geprojecteerd op de Arabieren, die net als de Joden in Israel een semitische taal spreken. De inherente haat moet natuurlijk ergens naar toe. Die hield niet op bij de gaskamers van Auschwitz.

Ben Kok en de fundamentalisten van christelijke signatuur moeten nu nog een extra stap maken. In elk geval is dit voor hen al duidelijk: 'the terrible antisemitsm of the official Christian Churches.' Nu de rest nog. Belangrijk voor de 'joods-christelijke pastor' is zich af te vragen welke zwarte kern er in de christelijke leer zit dat het zo moeilijk zonder een vijandsbeeld kan? 'Moshe Zalman Feiglin (Hebrew משה זלמן פייגלין, born 1962) is an Israeli politician. In 1993, he co-founded Zo Artzeinu ("This [is] our Land/Country") movement with Shmuel Sackett to protest the Oslo Accords. He is one of the founders of the Israeli civil disobedience movement that developed in protest against the accords. As a result of his activities, he was sentenced to six months in prison in 1997 for sedition, but the sentence was later commuted to community service.[1] In March 2008, Feiglin was banned from entering the United Kingdom by Home Secretary Jacqui Smith, on the grounds that his presence "would not be conducive to the public good".[2]... Of Israeli Arabs, Feiglin said, "They will have to seek the right to self-determination in Arab states. "The Arabs engage in typical Amalek behaviour. I can't prove this genetically but this is the behaviour of Amalek."[20]
"We shall offer them human rights without civil rights, so long as they prove their loyalty to their Jewish state host and accept Jewish sovereignty over their land. In such a situation they will be given legal-resident status and they can carry on their private affairs without anyone infringing on their human rights."[21]
Controversy over Hitler comments
In an article in Ha'aretz, Yossi Sarid quoted Feiglin as saying, "Hitler was an unparalleled military genius. Nazism promoted Germany from a low to a fantastic physical and ideological status. The ragged, trashy youth body turned into a neat and orderly part of society and Germany received an exemplary regime, a proper justice system and public order. Hitler savored good music. He would paint. This was no bunch of thugs. They merely used thugs and homosexuals." Feiglin clarified his position to the Maariv newspaper that just because he considers Hitler a military genius this does not mean he admires him.[1] In an interview on Israeli television Feiglin accused Sarid and other left-wing journalists of a smear campaign against him by quoting him out of context. He explained his point as saying that just because Germany was a democracy does not give legitimacy to what Hitler had done.[22]
Banned from Britain
Feiglin is banned from entering the United Kingdom due to a decision by Home Secretary Jacqui Smith, made public in March 2008, excluding Feiglin on the grounds that his presence in the country "would not be conducive to the public good."[23] A letter to Feiglin from the Home Office said that Smith based her decision on an assessment that his activities "foment or justify terrorist violence in furtherance of particular beliefs; seek to provoke others to terrorist acts; foment other serious criminal activity or seek to provoke others to serious criminal acts and foster hatred which might lead to inter-community violence in the UK."[2][24] Feiglin responded, "Seeing that renowned terrorists like Hizbullah member Ibrahim Mousawi are welcomed in your country in open arms, I understand that your policy is aimed at encouraging and supporting terror."[25]

Feiglin was arrested for organizing mass acts of resistance and blocked highways across Israel during the period in which the Oslo accords were debated and implemented.[26] Feiglin was charged with "break[ing] the barrier of obedience to the rule of law" and incitement to commit crimes. Feiglin was quoted as stating, "We will do all that it's possible to do, including break the law."[27] He was sentenced to six months in prison in 1997 for sedition, and the sentence was later performed via community service.

Relations between Feiglin and his fellow Likud members have been mixed. Likud Knesset member Limor Livnat stated that Feiglin and his friends are "not real Likudniks" and that his faction "cannot be allowed to prevail."[28] In an interview with the Jerusalem Post, Livnat explained that Feiglin and his faction must be prevented "from taking over, or the party and the state will be in danger," adding, that "this is not democracy, this is anarchy."[28]
Despite criticism from fellow Likud members, Feiglin has displayed favorable relations with a significant number of former Likud Knesset members. This was manifest during a Feiglin rally at Jerusalem's Ramada Hotel that took place before the 2008 Likud primary. Former Likud Knesset members Gila Gamliel, David Mena, Daniel Benlulu and Ayoub Kara attended the event despite warnings from Netanyahu's advisers not to do so.[29]
Support for Jonathan Pollard
Feiglin is a highly vocal supporter of Jonathan Pollard, a former American naval intelligence analyst who is currently serving a life sentence in the American Federal prison system for spying for Israel. Feiglin, who has called Pollard a hero,[30] has written a number of articles in support of Pollard. In a recent article, Feiglin stated that "Pollard is a Jew who saved the Israelis from American treachery."[31]

Minder correspondenten bij de Volkskrant

De Volkskrant moet bezuinigen en neemt daarom afscheid van enkele correspondenten. Deze zomer vertrekt Midden-Oosten-correspondent Ferry Biedermann en zijn Latijns-Amerika-collega Cees Zoon raakt vanaf begin volgend jaar zijn contract kwijt. "We moeten overwinteren", zegt hoofdredacteur Pieter Broertjes tegen De Journalist.

Twee weken geleden schreef ik dit over het vertrek van dit slag correspondenten:

Is dit een probleem? Nee, geenszins. Uit ervaring weet ik dat de meeste Nederlandse correspondenten doorgaans niet verder komen dan de hoofdstad van het land waar ze gestationeerd zijn en hun informatie van persbureaus betrekken, net als de redacties in Nederland. Daar komt nog iets bij. Ferry Biedermann bijvoorbeeld is vooral bekend vanwege zijn tendentieuze pro-Israel verslaggeving. Dat leidde tot absurde artikelen.'

Et voila, Cees Zoon, die niet weet dat een staatsgreep een staatsgreep is. Dat is knap voor iemand wiens vak het is te weten wat woorden betekenen.

Nog maar een keer:

'Taal is de moeder van de gedachte, niet haar dienstmeid,' schreef Karl Kraus ten tijde van de opkomst van Hitler.

En Victor Klemperer, die net als Kraus vanwege zijn joodse achtergrond de nazi's moest vrezen, bestudeerde hun taal en concludeerde:

De terreur begint bij woorden. Pas nadat die zijn vervormd kan het echte moorden beginnen. En daar zijn journalisten als Biedermann en Zoon voor nodig.

Welnu, omdat er geruchten gingen over rellen werd de democratisch gekozen president uit de macht ontzet?Maar beste Cees, in tegenstelling tot wat jij suggereert, is dat geen wettig motief om als leger de macht te grijpen. En daarom heet zo'n illegale actie een staatsgreep. Waarom weet je dat niet? Waarom bedrijf je propaganda? Hoop je zo bij de Volkskrant te mogen blijven? Of verdien je er extra mee? Jij weet toch net zo goed als ik dat dit een staatsgreep is.

'Militaire staatsgreep in Honduras

Militairen in Honduras hebben president Zelaya afgezet en naar Costa Rica gebracht. De arrestatie kwam enkele minuten voordat er in Honduras een controversieel referendum van start zou gaan. In de volksraadpleging wilde Zelaya de mening polsen over wijzigingen in de grondwet, maar het Hooggerechtshof, het leger en zelfs leden van zijn eigen partij waren daar pertinent tegen. De linkse Zelaya zei Honduras democratischer te willen maken door het volk meer inspraak te geven in de besluitvorming. Ook wilde hij de herverkiezing van de president mogelijk maken. Nu mag het staatshoofd slechts één termijn van vier jaar dienen. De veranderingen zouden nu nog niet ingaan, maar bij de presidentsverkiezingen in november nogmaals aan het volk worden voorgelegd. Tegenstanders beschuldigden Zelaya van een verkapte poging aan de macht te blijven, in de trant van de Venezolaanse president Chávez. Hem lukte het dit jaar om de beperkingen op herverkiezingen geschrapt te krijgen. Nadat Zelaya vanochtend was gearresteerd door militairen is hij overgebracht naar een luchtmachtbasis. Daar is hij op het vliegtuig naar Costa Rica gezet. Volgens een woordvoerder van de president werd er bij zijn arrestatie geschoten.'

Mooi zo, maar nu weer even serieus, per slot van rekening blijft de journalistiek een vak. Beste collega's van het NOS-Journaal, de journalistiek kent een aantal basisprincipes. 1 daarvan is het juist gebruiken van woorden en betekenissen.

Daar gaan we, jullie schrijven: 'Nadat Zelaya vanochtend was gearresteerd .' Arresteren? Collega's, sinds wanneer heeft een leger dat zojuist een illegale daad heeft verricht, namelijk het afzetten van een democratisch gekozen president, de juridische bevoegdheid om te arresteren? Tja, jongelui, kan Balkenende door het Nederlandse leger worden gearresteerd? Nee, natuurlijk niet, sufferds. Arresteren is een juridisch begrip. De Hondurese president is ook niet 'gearresteerd', maar gekidnapt, met geweld ontvoerd. Lees nog eens jullie eigen tekst: 'De arrestatie kwam enkele minuten voordat er in Honduras een controversieel referendum van start zou gaan.' Kijk nu eens, jullie beseften dus heel goed dat er hier sprake was van een democratische volksraadpleging die het leger heeft gesaboteerd door de president niet te arresteren, maar met geweld te ontvoeren. Waarom proberen jullie nu deze illegale daad van militairen de schijn van legaliteit te geven door het gebruik van het juridische begrip 'arrestatie'? Dan het volgende: 'een controversieel referendum'. Wat bedoelen jullie precies? Het feit dat er een volksraadpleging plaatsvindt is volgens jullie controversieel. Hoezo controversieel? Het onderwerp van het referendum kan controversieel zijn, dat is ook de reden om een referendum te houden, maar niet het feit dat in een democratie de bevolking wordt geraadpleegd. En toch beweren jullie dat. Waarom?

Beste collega's, zijn jullie nu werkelijk zo onnozel om te denken dat door dit propagandistisch gebruik van valse begrippen jullie de democratie steunen? Ik begrijp dat jullie opereren vanuit geconditioneerde reflexen, namelijk vanuit de gedachte dat Chavez het grote kwaad is, maar toch, jullie persoonlijke opvattingen of die van jullie bazen, zijn voor de kijker en luisteraar, lezer volstrekt onbelangrijk, tenzij jullie bewust propaganda bedrijven. En dat laatste doen jullie. Stemmingkwekerij, meer is het niet. Is het niet verstandiger dat jullie ander werk gaan doen. Ga de politiek in, of de sportverslaggeving of wordt een goede loodgieter. De serieuze journalistiek is vrees ik voor jullie een tikje te hoog gegrepen.

Israel lobbyist Paul Wolfowitz calls for US interference in Iran

Paul J. Balles cautions against the warmongering growls of Paul Wolfowitz, the architect of the aggression against Iraq and a man of dual loyalty to Israel and the USA, who is now calling for American interference in Iran’s internal affairs.

The New York Times published an Op-Ed piece (19 June) by Paul Wolfowitz, the man more responsible than others in the previous US administration for unjustified death and destruction in Iraq.

Bernard Weiner, writing in the Crisis Papers reveals that in 1992, then-Secretary of Defence Dick Cheney had a strategy report drafted for the Department of Defence, written by Paul Wolfowitz, who was then the under-secretary of defence for policy.

In it, the US government was urged, as the world's sole remaining superpower, to move aggressively and militarily around the globe. The report called for pre-emptive attacks and ad hoc coalitions, but said that the US should be ready to act alone when "collective action cannot be orchestrated."

Weiner wrote: “Wolfowitz outlined plans for military intervention in Iraq as an action necessary to assure ‘access to vital raw material, primarily Persian Gulf oil’ and to prevent the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and threats from terrorism.”

This last part was the key to the Wolfowitz doctrine. Israel had as its agent provocateur Paul Wolfowitz to justify occupation of Iraq as permanent protection against WMDs.

"For bureaucratic reasons we settled on one issue, weapons of mass destruction, because it was the one reason everyone could agree on." said Wolfowitz, in an interview in the magazine Vanity Fair.

In his latest New York Times article, Wolfowitz started off with a hawkish remark about how, "President Obama's first response to the protests in Iran was silence, followed by a cautious, almost neutral stance designed to avoid 'meddling' in Iranian affairs".

Instead of criticizing Barack Obama’s prudent response to the events in Iran, the uncompromising warmonger Wolfowitz should be having nightmares over the 1,331,578 Iraqis slaughtered since the US invaded Iraq, and the 4,315 US military personnel sacrificed in that war.

Wolfowitz now wants Obama to interfere in the election conflict in Iran, an event that's nobody's business but the Iranians’. Other hawks in Washington have undoubtedly been encouraged to call Obama timid or weak. James Mann referred to Wolfowitz as "...the most influential underling in Washington".

In the New York Times article, Wolfowitz wrote: "...the reform the Iranian demonstrators seek is something that we should be supporting. In such a situation, the United States does not have a 'no comment' option". On the contrary, it’s the only sensible option.

Wolfowitz added: "Coming from America, silence is itself a comment – a comment in support of those holding power and against those protesting the status quo." This kind of thinking behind America's imperialism has done nothing but breed enemies for America.

According to Wolfowitz, "It would be a cruel irony if, in an effort to avoid imposing democracy, the United States were to tip the scale toward dictators who impose their will on people struggling for freedom".

What gives the US a right to "impose democracy" on any country or to decide what should be done about those "who impose their will on people struggling for freedom?"

Adding insult to injury, Wolfowitz growls: "And if we appear so desperate for negotiations that we will abandon those who support our principles, we weaken our own negotiating hand."

The reality is that Wolfowitz has no interest in negotiations of any sort. He has been called “Wolfowitz of Arabia” in jest by the New York Times’ Maureen Dowd, and, with respect, “the intellectual godfather of the war ... its heart and soul” by Time’s Mark Thompson. If the war on Iraq is anybody’s war, it is Paul Wolfowitz’s.

De God van Ben Kok

Ziedaar Ben Kok als wandelende Israelische vlag.

Je struikelt in Nederland over de dwazen die denken dat hun god de enige ware is. Neem bijvoorbeeld deze meneer, genaamd Ben Kok, die zichzelf aankondigt als een joods-christelijke pastor. Hij schrijft:

'De zgn. overeenkomsten tussen joods-christelijk geloof en islam zijn schijn en juist de diepgaande verschillen laten zien, waarin men via de islam misleidt wordt .

Heb de moed om die dus onder ogen te zien; elk mens is voor God zo kostbaar, dat hij/zij aan zichzelf verplicht is te zoeken naar de waarheid, totdat hij/zij vindt.

En dat is nu net wat Hij belooft: wie zoekt, zal God vinden (Lucas 11:9-13) en deze ene ware God geeft geen stenen voor brood of een schorpioen ipv. een ei, zoals bijv. afgoden als Allah via de islam doen, of via alle andere systemen en “ismes” zonder de ene ware God.

En die stenen en schorpioenen krijgen we als boomerangs terug of worden naar ons toegeworpen op enig moment, dus aan de slag om het tij te keren.

Het bezwaar zit bij Ben Kok dieper. "De islam is een misleidende godsdienst. Elke vrijdagmiddag, als de minaret de mensen oproept naar de moskee te komen, klinkt de boodschap: 'Er is geen god dan Allah'. Moslims noemen het een gebedsoproep, maar het is een leugen. Het is een vervloeking, pure afgoderij die over de stad wordt uitgestrooid".

De afgelopen jaren heeft Kok "na lang aandringen" drie keer een gesprek gehad met leidinggevende Marokkaanse moslims. "Ze hebben mij echter te verstaan gegeven dat ze niet verder willen praten. Ze hebben geen antwoorden op mijn vragen. Ik ben te kritisch".

Toen Kok over de opening van de El Fathmoskee (El Fath: de opening, de sleutel) hoorde, vond hij de tijd rijp voor een tegenactie. "Goede kennissen kwamen met het idee een reclamevliegtuigje in te zetten met een getuigende boodschap. Zij wilden het regelen en ook de kosten betalen: 1000 euro. Vrijdagmiddag om vijf uur stijgt in Hilversum het vliegtuigje op met de boodschap 'Jezus is de enige Weg tot God de Vader'. Het zal boven de hele stad vliegen, maar vanaf zes uur vooral boven de moskee."

Wat moeten we met deze profeet? Ben Kok, joods-christelijke pastor. Joods-christelijk? Wat is dat? Hebben de christenen 2000 jaar het antisemitisme gekweekt en gekoesterd, net zo lang tot het onvermijdelijk in de nazi-holocaust uitmondde, en staat er ineens een profeet op die zich joods-christelijk noemt. Hoe nu? Members of US House Financial Services Committee Snapped Up or Dumped Bank Stocks as Bottom Fell Out of Market

Washington - As financial markets tumbled and the government worked to stave off panic by pumping billions of dollars into banks last fall, several members of Congress who oversee the banking industry were grabbing up or dumping bank stocks.

Anticipating bargains or profits or just trying to unload before the bottom fell out, these members of the House Financial Services Committee or brokers on their behalf were buying and selling stocks including Bank of America and Citigroup - some of the very corporations their committee would later rap for greed, a Plain Dealer examination of congressional stock market transactions shows.

Financial disclosure records show that some of these Financial Services Committee members, including Ohio Rep. Charlie Wilson, made bank stock trades on the same day the banks were getting a government bailout from a program Congress approved. The transactions may not have been illegal or against congressional rules, but securities attorneys and congressional watchdog groups say they raise flags about the appearance of conflicts of interest.

"I don't think that any of these people should be owning these types of financial instruments," said Brian Biggins, a Cleveland securities lawyer and former stock brokerage manager. "I'm not saying they shouldn't be in the stock market. But if they're on the banking committee and trading in these kinds of stocks, I don't think that's right."

For example, Rep. Ginny Brown-Waite, a Florida Republican, bought Citigroup stock valued between $1,001 and $15,000 on Oct. 2, the day before the House passed the financial rescue bill and President George W. Bush signed it into law, records show. She opposed the bill.

Eleven days later, she bought $1,001 to $15,000 worth of Bank of America stock. It was on the same day that then-Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson told leading banks that he expected them to accept billions in bailout money to prevent a financial meltdown.

Brown-Waite, who has since left the committee to join the tax-writing Ways and Means Committee, and her spokeswoman would not comment for this article. The precise value of her investments is not publicly known because financial disclosure reports provide only broad ranges, although some members include detailed brokerage reports.
