Leonard Ornstein en het Zionistische Gecultiveerde Slachtofferschap

Typerend voor het neoliberale kapitalisme is dat de Amerikaanse- en Europese steun aan de openlijke terreur van de Apartheidsstaat Israel haarscherp aantoont dat de westerse koloniale mentaliteit nog steeds oppermachtig heerst. Wat de zionistische staat al decennialang voor onze ogen aan koloniale misdaden begaat, deed het Westen zelf in zijn voormalige koloniën. Net als in de tijd van de  Europese veroveraars vecht sinds 1948 het zionistisch kolonialisme met grof geweld een territoriaal conflict uit ten koste van een volk dat militair veel zwakker is. Desondanks, of beter gesteld, juist daarom suggereren de westerse mainstream-media dat hier twee gelijkwaardige partijen in ‘oorlog’ zijn, Joods-Israelische strijdkrachten versus fundamentalistische Islamitische ‘Hamas-terroristen’ in Gaza. 

Maar in werkelijkheid is sprake van het vierde machtigste leger op aarde versus enkele milities en stenen gooiende jongeren zonder een eigen nationale leger, luchtmacht, en marine. De Palestijnse milities en jongeren worden geboycot door het Westen, terwijl de met nucleaire raketten uitgeruste Israelische marine deelneemt aan NAVO-oefeningen om de ‘kapitalistische orde’ van Washington, Wall Street en Brussel wereldwijd te handhaven. Het laatste was één van de belangrijke redenen om de zionisten onder de joden een eigen staat te geven in de olierijke regio die van vitaal belang is voor Europa en de VS. En dus kijkt de EU als grootste handelspartner van Israel rustig toe hoe de verdere landroof van de extremistische zionisten vandaag de dag onbelemmerd doorgaat, en hoe ruim twee miljoen Palestijnse burgers sinds 2007 in de Gaza-Strook, 's werelds grootste concentratiekamp,  hermetisch opgesloten zitten, en herhaaldelijk met raketten en granaten door Israelische vliegtuigen, tanks en artilleriegeschut worden bestookt. Niet alleen tolereren Brussel en Washington deze terreur,  zij steunen zelfs de Israëlische oorlogsmisdaden door het verstrekken van wapens en logistieke hulp. De gebruikelijke hypocrisie van politici bereikt hier een absoluut dieptepunt. Zeker wanneer we ervan uitgaan dat de door het Westen zo bewonderde en gevierde Zuid-Afrikaanse vrijheidsstrijder, Nelson Mandela:

in a 1997 speech on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, reaffirmed his support for Palestinian rights. ‘We know too well that our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinians.’ While in Gaza, he said he felt ‘at home amongst compatriots.’ He announced his support for the two-state solution but affirmed Israel must withdraw from occupied territories. After the death of Yasser Arafat on 11 November 2004, Mandela paid tribute to the Palestinian leader who he hailed as an icon.’

‘He was an icon in the proper sense of the word. He was not only concerned with the liberation of the Arab people but of all the oppressed people throughout the world — Arabs and non-Arabs — and to lose a man of that stature and thinking is a great blow to all those who are fighting against oppression.’

De kosten van de Israelische belegering wordt niet betaald door de zelfbenoemde ‘Joodse natie,’ maar door de wereldgemeenschap:

NGOs, foreign donors, and the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, which had a $238 million budget for Gaza in 2013, provide nearly all of the Strip's basic services, and more than half of the youth population is unemployed. There's no real postal delivery,

terwijl: 

The water resources of Palestine are fully controlled by Israel… Generally, the water quality is considerably worse in the Gaza strip when compared to the West Bank… The lasting blockade of the Gaza Strip and the Gaza War have caused severe damage to the infrastructure in the Gaza Strip. Concerning wastewater, the existing treatment plants do not have the capacity to treat all of the produced wastewater, causing severe water pollution.

Bovendien berichtte op 28 april 2021 het International Middle East Media Center dat:

The Israeli closure of the sea in the Gaza Strip increases the suffering of the fishermen who are paying a heavy price for the practices of the Israeli occupation authorities.

Israel closed the sea since Monday and prohibited fishing until further notice in a collective punishment step of the Gaza Strip’s two million population for the firing of projectiles from Gaza into Israel over the last few days.

As a result, 60,000 people in Gaza who make their living from fishing have been affected by the arbitrary Israeli measure, according to Zakaria Bakr, head of the Fishermen Union Committees in Gaza.

‘Four thousand fishermen work in the sea, in addition to 1500 others whose work is directly connected to this sector, including craftsmen, drivers, merchants, fish sellers and net sellers, as well as three or four ice factories that operate for the benefit of fishermen, which stopped their production with the closure of the sea,’ Bakr told WAFA.

He said the closure of the sea coincided with an important fishing season, and closure or reducing the fishing area always comes at the beginning of each fishing season. This leaves a grave impact on the fishermen and their families.

Bakr said Israel deliberately targets the fishing sector by limiting the fishing area, attacking fishermen and their boats while in the sea, and preventing the import of all fishing equipment.

Fisherman Munther Abu Amira, 30, said the occupation authorities ‘close the sea continuously and tightens the grip on the fishermen, and sometimes closes it while we are at the sea,’ adding that the allowed fishing area is not sufficient.

Zonder enige overdrijving kan gesteld worden dat de Israelische terreur optimaal is, met als doel de Palestijnse burgers het leven zo ondraaglijk te maken dat zij uiteindelijk zich gedwongen voelen te vluchten. En dat was ook het oorspronkelijk doel van de meeste Joods-Israelische leiders van het eerste uur, onder wie de vader des vaderlands, de linkse David Ben Goerion, en de rechtse terrorist Menachem Begin. Misschien ten overvloede, maar dit alles is in flagrante strijd met het internationale recht, een feit waaraan westerse politici en de westerse ‘corporate press’ weigeren consequenties te verbinden. Binnen deze context moet de recente opmerking van de demissionaire premier Rutte worden geïnterpreteerd: 

Ik ben zeer bezorgd over het aanhoudende geweld in Israël en Gaza. Het is onacceptabel dat Hamas willekeurig raketten op de burgerbevolking afvuurt. Nederland steunt het recht van Israël op zelfverdediging, binnen de grenzen van het internationaal recht en proportionaliteit.

Het is dan ook niet vreemd dat, volgens de NOS ‘schrijver/dichter Ramsey Nasr geen goed woord over [heeft] voor de eenzijdige reactie van Rutte: ‘Even een berichtje om te zeggen dat je een schoft bent. Vrienden met Israël zijn is je goed recht. Etnische zuiveringen bagatelliseren is dat niet.’

Een eenzame stem onder de polder-intellectuelen. Kenmerkend is dat mainstream-opiniemakers als Geert Mak, Ian Buruma, Hubert Smeets, Bas Heijne, etcetera, nu zwijgen als het graf. In een klein land moet de zelfbenoemde ‘politiek-literaire elite’ geen controverses beginnen wil haar inkomen en imago intact blijven. En aangezien centraal in haar kruideniersgeest lafheid staat, zal het overgrote deel van deze ‘elite,’ net als de 'elite' tijdens de nazi-bezetting, muisstil blijven. De grootste nog levende ‘historicus’ die het 'onheroïsche' Nederland kent, te weten Geert Mak, zal het ook nooit aandurven om dit conflict historisch te 'duiden' zoals hij van alles en nog wat duidt. Daarom zal ik dit hier nogmaals doen, voordat de zionistische journalist Leonard Ornstein weer de ruimte krijgt bij een of andere staatsomroep om zijn propaganda te spuien, en om schaamteloos te liegen dat het:

een ontzettend lastig iets om de goeie balans te vinden. Ik ben veel in Gaza geweest, op de Westbank, maar ook veel in het Israelische deel, en wat je moet doen is, je moet echt proberen eerlijk te zijn.

Maar omdat ik Leonard Ornstein als zionistische propagandist de afgelopen drie decennia scherp in de gaten heb gehouden, weet ik dat hij en zijn collega Max van Weezel met betrekking tot het Israelisch geweld en de zionistische landroof nooit ‘echt’ hebben geprobeerd ‘eerlijk te zijn.’ Is dit verwonderlijk? De joodse journalist en oud-hoofdredacteur van Vrij Nederland, wijlen Joop van Tijn, die de leermeester van Max van Weezel was, verklaarde desgevraagd in alle eerlijkheid wel degelijk bevooroordeeld te zijn zodra het Israel betrof. Omdat Van Tijn lange tijd mijn bovenbuurman was, spraken wij elkaar met zekere regelmaat en wist ik hoe hij dacht over ondermeer zijn joodse achtergrond. Vlak voor zijn dood zei hij tegen de journalist Arnold Karskens: 

Toen ik daar was, merkte ik dat ik meer dan ooit mezelf identificeerde met Israel. Je krijgt die legerberichten, verhalen over wat die anderen allemaal voor slechts doen, over verliezen en wreedheden. Of je wilt of niet, je wordt meegesleept. Ook als je je gebruikelijke scepsis bewaart en denkt: zo slecht zal die andere partij niet zijn. Je kiest. 

Dat ‘je kiest’ is, gezien het langdurige christelijke antisemitisme, begrijpelijk. De vraag is daarom relevant of juist joodse journalisten de eerst aangewezenen moeten zijn om over Israel te berichten. Leonard Ornstein bijvoorbeeld zal nooit de volgende feitelijke en uiterst belangrijke informatie verstrekken, die opmerkelijk genoeg wel in Israel onderdeel is van het publieke gesprek:

Does the establishment of a Jewish state [in only part of Palestine] advance or retard the conversion of this country into a Jewish country? My assumption (which is why I am a fervent proponent of a state, even though it is now linked to partition) is that a Jewish state on only part of the land is not the end but the beginning.... This is because this increase in possession is of consequence not only in itself, but because through it we increase our strength, and every increase in strength helps in the possession of the land as a whole. The establishment of a state, even if only on a portion of the land, is the maximal reinforcement of our strength at the present time and a powerful boost to our historical endeavors to liberate the entire country.

What did David Ben-Gurion say?

If I were an Arab leader, I would never sign an agreement with Israel. It is normal; we have taken their country. It is true God promised it to us, but how could that interest them? Ben Gurion also warned in 1948: Assuring his fellow Zionists that Palestinians will never come back to their homes: The old will die and the young will forget.

We should prepare to go over to the offensive. Our aim is to smash Lebanon, Trans-Jordan, and Syria. The weak point is Lebanon, for the Moslem regime is artificial and easy for us to undermine. We shall establish a Christian state there, and then we will smash the Arab Legion, eliminate Trans-Jordan; Syria will fall to us. We then bomb and move on and take Port Said, Alexandria and Sinai.

The acceptance of partition does not commit us to renounce Transjordan. One does not demand from anybody to give up his vision. We shall accept a state in the boundaries fixed today — but the boundaries of Zionist aspirations are the concerns of the Jewish people and no external factor will be able to limit them.

October, 1936, during the Jewish Agency Executive meeting Ben-Gurion arguing in favor of transfer as a policy, he said ‘We are not a state and Britain will not do it for us…’ although ‘there is nothing wrong in the idea.’

Ben-Gurion:

If it was permissible to move an Arab from the Galilee to Judea, why it is impossible to move an Arab from Hebron to Transjordan, which is much closer? There are vast expanses of land there and we are over crowded… Even the High Commission agrees to a transfer to Transjordan if we equip the peasants with land and money. If the Peel Commission and the London Government accept, we’ll remove the land problem from the agenda.

The Arabs, Ben-Gurion claimed, would not become landless as a result of Zionist land acquisition; they would be transferred to Transjordan.

October 29, 1936 the 21 member of the Jewish Agency Executive endorsed the proposal of a transfer of displaced Arab farmers to Transjordan. Only two of the four non-Zionist members opted to dissent.

Volgende keer meer citaten van de grondlegger van de ‘Joodse staat,’ die in niets wezenlijks verschilde van de al even meedogenloze Benjamin Netanyahu, die het nauwelijks geheime voornemen van de extremistische zionisten nu verder aan het uitvoeren is. Natuurlijk weet ook de zionistische lobby in Nederland dit, van journalist Leonard Ornstein tot de al even goed geïnformeerde Rabbijn Awraham Soetendorp, van de journaliste Annet Bleich tot de auteur Leon de Winter. Maar allen blijven zwijgen om de vermoorde onschuld te kunnen blijven spelen. Hun gecultiveerd slachtofferschap is mateloos en blind makend. Al in 1981 waarschuwde de vooraanstaande zionist Nahum Goldman, lange tijd president van het World Jewish Congress, die naderhand vanwege zijn kritiek gehaat werd door de zionistische leiders:

We zullen moeten begrijpen dat het joodse lijden tijdens de Holocaust niet langer meer als verdediging zal dienen, en we zullen zeker moeten nalaten de Holocaust als argument te gebruiken om gelijk wat we ook mogen doen te rechtvaardigen. De Holocaust gebruiken als een excuus voor het bombarderen… is een soort 'ontheiliging,' een banalisering van de onschendbare tragedie van de Holocaust, die niet misbruikt moet worden om een politiek twijfelachtig en moreel onverdedigbaar beleid te rechtvaardigen.

Telkens weer zes miljoen vermoorde mensen voor je politieke karretje spannen, is weerzinwekkend. Als men niets beters weet is het fatsoenlijker te leren zwijgen over deze tragedie.
