Dirty Wars

Jeremy Scahill Releases DIRTY WARS
On April 23, Nation Books author and Puffin Foundation Writing Fellow Jeremy Scahill released his newest book, Dirty Wars: The World Is a Battlefield (Nation Books, 2013). Scahill is currently on a multi-city book tour
Dirty Wars debuted at #5 on the New York Times bestseller list for May 12, 2013.
Journalist Steve Coll wrote about Dirty Wars in the New Yorker. He says, "Scahill weaves into his larger narrative the most detailed biography of Anwar Awlaki yet published. It is a riveting account."
Please see below for the latest media coverage of Jeremy Scahill and Dirty Wars
Scahill on Democracy Now: "The Secret Story Behind Obama's Assassination of Two Americans in Yemen"
Scahill on MSNBC's All In with Chris Hayes: "The Obama administration’s global battlefield"
In his two-part series on how Washington helped create its enemies in the post-9/11 era, Tom Engelhardt wrote extensively about Dirty Wars for TomDispatch. He says,
Chalmers Johnson was, you might say, our first blowback scholar. Now, more than a decade later, we have a book from our first blowback reporter. His name is Jeremy Scahill... Scahill's reporting couldn’t be more incisive on the subject. Dirty Wars is really the secret history of how Washington launched a series of undeclared wars in the backlands of the planet and killed its way to something that ever more closely resembled an actual global war, creating a world of enemies out of next to nothing.
Here is Scahill on MSNBC's Morning Joe: "How Obama has made assassination a component of his security policy"
Scahill on Democracy Now Part II: "Obama’s Expanding Drone Attacks"
Scahill on RT TV's Breaking the Set: "Terror Begets Terror"

Jeremy Scahill is the National Security Correspondent for the Nation magazine and the author of the New York Times best-seller Blackwater: The Rise of the World's Most Powerful Mercenary Army (Nation Books, 2007). He is the writer, with David Riker, and a producer of the documentary feature film Dirty Wars, which will be released by IFC Films throughout North America in June 2013. Watch the trailer here.
