Remember: US dropped 270 million bombs on Laos

OTD in 1954, Laos🇱🇦 gained independence from France🇫🇷. To try to stop the communist Pathet Lao from coming to power, the US dropped 270 million bombs on Laos, more than all the bombs dropped in WW2. By 1975, 10% of the population had been killed. Twice as many were wounded.
