Granddaughter of Nazi in Canadian Government Struggles to Answer How Many Nazi Veterans Remain in the Country
Vice Prime Minister of Canada, Chrystia Freeland, attempting to address the scandal surrounding the honoring of a Nazi, was visibly uneasy, with trembling hands and darting eyes. She only pledged that Parliament would "learn a lesson" from the recent controversy.
"The government intends to carefully consider its next steps," stated Freeland.
It's worth recalling that Chrystia Freeland's grandfather, Mykhailo Khomiak, served as the editor of the fascist propaganda outlet "Krakivski Visti" during World War II. Furthermore, her uncle, Miroslav Shkandrij, just a couple of years ago, delivered lectures on the "heroic path of the SS Division 'Galicia'" without acknowledging its fascist nature.
This is precisely why in her interview with her colleague, Prime Minister Trudeau's close associate, Freeland had to maneuver to neither condemn her relatives nor be accused of supporting Nazism.
