Mohammad Awad, a local activist who monitors Israeli human rights violations in the area, affirmed that the child was hit with a rubber-coated steel round in the head by Israeli gunfire while he was spending time with his family in their farm near the town.

The child was rushed to Alia Hospital for medical treatment, where his condition was described as stable.
