The KIT Library and research and Tropenmuseum, Amsterdam's ethnographic and
multicultural museum, is being hit hard by budget cuts.
Over half of the staff will lose their jobs and the research library, filled
with one of a kind publications from around the globe dated as of 1400, will
simply shut down.
40,000 signatures that don't need to be dutch but can be worldwide, will put
the Tropenmuseum back on the governments agenda to tell them the public is
not
okay with this! We need the signatures BEFORE 30 JUNE!

KIT is an important institution which has been working hard to address its
role in a contemporary, diverse, postcolonial context - showing contemporary
artists from all over the world and taking a critical look at its own
history
and collection. Please help!
Right now we have 8500 signatures, for sure there are more people in Holland
let alone worldwide that know the importance of KIT as an institution to
make
sure we safe at least most of the collections of books, research, art and
artifacts that tell about our complete history. We can not leave our
posterity
with only part our history!!!
I hope you will sign like we have done and we will make the 40.000

in time!!
