stan,
The most important international climate talk — the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) — is happening in Glasgow, Scotland this November. Leaders from around the world will gather and make newclimate commitments and many corporations will release their latest climate plans during the conference:
That’s why between now and the start of COP26, we’re building a massive people-powered movement with our partners at Stop the Money Pipeline to force funders of climate chaos, and the Biden administration, to take action to defund the climate crisis ahead of COP26.
But we can’t reach our ambitious goal without your help, stan.
Join us in demanding that all financial institutions and the US government, including the Federal Reserve, end their support for fossil fuel companies funding climate destruction and human rights abuses by the start of COP26. Our goal is to gather hundreds of thousands of signatures and to deliver them to hundreds of insurance offices, bank branches, asset managers, pension fund offices, and key federal targets ahead of November. Help us reach our goal by signing the petition today.
The Glasgow Climate Talks at COP26 are a historic opportunity for the world to take meaningful action on the climate crisis. When nations signed the Paris Agreement, they agreed to meet five years later and push their climate ambition higher. We’re at the five year mark and we must hold the world’s leaders accountable to their promises and demand that they act on the climate crisis now.
In the coming weeks, 350.org will participate in one of the 500 actions ahead of the climate talks to demonstrate the strength of our movement and for our demands to be heard loud and clear. We'll share more ways you can get involved, including details on our upcoming on-the-ground action to push the Federal Reserve to take action.
We’re about 100 days out until the start of the Glasgow Climate Talks. Let’s make this matter.
In solidarity,
Brett Fleishman
