Sinds enige tijd circuleert in Nederland een petitie van de extreem rechtse joods-zionistische organisatie Betar Netherlands, die als volgt luidt:
Ik, ondergetekende ondersteun deze petitie waarin ik u verzoek de benoeming van Sigrid Kaag op het ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken, in te trekken om de volgende redenen.
1: Haar Palestijnse man, Anis al-Qaq, was namens de Palestijnse terreurorganisatie PLO ‘Onderminister van Planning.’ Dat was in een tijd dat zijn baas Yasser Arafat opdrachten gaf om terreuraanslagen tegen Israel te plegen.
2: Sigrid Kaag beroept zich in interviews geregeld op haar goede relatie met de sjiitische terreurorganisatie Hezbollah, deze groepering heeft bloedige aanslagen uitgevoerd.
3: Ze is haatdragend tegenover de democratisch gekozen Israëlische premier Netanyahu die noemde zij onder meer ‘een racistische demagoog’ en ‘geen vertegenwoordiger van vredelievende Israëli’s.’ Israël is een bevriende staat, dat een democratisch gekozen premier heeft.
4: Sigrid Kaag was werkzaam bij de afdeling politieke VN-zaken van het ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken en huwde met haar Palestijnse man, dit heeft ze verzwegen, nadat dit toch bekend is geworden, is ze van haar vertrouwensfunctie ontheven.
Een dergelijk persoon met denkbeeelden, en sympathie voor de PLO en Yasser Arafat zal de betrekkingen tussen Nederland en Israel schade toebrengen.
Ik roep u bij deze op, om haar niet aan te stellen op het ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken, als minister van Buitenlandse Zaken.
De organisatie Betar NL ziet zich gesteund door de Israëlische Ambassade in Den Haag, het Interprovinciaal Opperrabbinaat, het European Centre for Jewish Students in Brussel, het Joods Agentschap NL, het Joods Politienetwerk, Stand With Us NL, het Jabotinsky Instituut in Tel Aviv, Likoed NL en World Likud, de World Zionist Organization, het Menachem Begin Erfgoed Centrum en World Betar in Jeruzalem.
Sinds Soekot 5779 (2018) is Betar-Tagar NL in stichtingsvorm geregistreerd in Amsterdam.
Door het zionistisch ideaal, (r)emigratie naar Israél, binnen onze gemeenschap te blijven aanwakkeren, zal Betar NL in samenwerking met de Jewish Agency NL, Aliyah naar Israël blijven stimuleren.
Het leren van de Hebreeuwse taal is een zeer belangrijk doel voor elke Betari en zal in navolging van Jabotinsky, als fundamenteel worden beschouwd.
In de stroom van de eerder genoemde activiteiten zal mede door inteNsieve samenwerking met de World Betar-beweging in Israël, ons gezamenlijke doel hopelijk worden bereikt: de (her)oprichting van een solide Nederlandse Betar Jeugdbeweging, net als de andere 14+ landen waarin Betar tegenwoordig afdelingen heeft.

Omdat het hier om een van oorsprong buitenlandse organisatie handelt met bewondering voor uitgesproken fascistische voorgangers, een beweging die zich nu met de binnenlandse politiek van Nederland bemoeit, is het noodzakelijk om meer te weten van de achtergronden van BETAR. Future Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin, who had headed Betar Poland prior to World War II, reached Palestine at the war's end and took immediate control of both Betar Palestine and the Irgun. He led the two organizations in their contribution to the 1948–49 war that established the initial borders of the newly proclaimed state of Israel. Betar and the Irgun remained functionally intermingled, consistently sharing leadership and manpower.

Many of Israel's most prominent conservatives have been ‘graduates’ of Betar, including former prime ministers Menachem Begin, Yitzhak Shamir, and Ehud Olmert, and former Defense Minister Moshe Arens. Former Likud/Kadima minister (in several offices) Tzipi Livni MK was a youth Betarist. Yoel Hasson MK was formerly national head of Betar in Israel. Livni and Hasson later formed Hatnuah, which in 2015 allied with Labor in the center-left Zionist Union.

The Irgun has been viewed as a terrorist organization or organization which carried out terrorist acts. Specifically the organization ‘committed acts of terrorism and assassination against the British, whom it regarded as illegal occupiers, and it was also violently anti-Arab’ according to the Encyclopædia Britannica. In particular the Irgun was described as a terrorist organization by the United Nations, British, and United States governments; in media such as The New York Times newspaper; as well as by the Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry, the 1946 Zionist Congress and the Jewish Agency. However, academics such as Bruce Hoffman and Max Abrahms have written that the Irgun went to considerable lengths to avoid harming civilians, such as issuing pre-attack warnings; according to Hoffman, Irgun leadership urged ‘targeting the physical manifestations of British rule while avoiding the deliberate infliction of bloodshed.’ Albert Einstein, in a letter to the New York Times in 1948, compared Irgun and its successor Herut party to ‘Nazi and Fascist parties’ and described it as a ‘terrorist, right wing, chauvinist organization.’ Irgun's tactics appealed to many Jews who believed that any action taken in the cause of the creation of a Jewish state was justified, including terrorism.
The Irgun was a political predecessor to Israel's right-wing Herut (or ‘Freedom’) party, which led to today's Likud party. Likud has led or been part of most Israeli governments since 1977.

Om geen enkel misverstand te laten bestaan over wat het uiteindelijke streven van het zionisme is, schreef Ze’ev Jabotinski, oprichter van Betar, de organisatie die zich nu ook in Nederland met de binnenlandse politiek bemoeit:
Colonization can have only one aim, and Palestine Arabs cannot accept this aim. It lies in the very nature of things, and in this particular regard nature cannot be changed.
We cannot offer any adequate compensation to the Palestinian Arabs in return for Palestine. And therefore, there is no likelihood of any voluntary agreement being reached. So that all those who regard such an agreement as a condition sine qua non for Zionism may as well say ‘non’ and withdraw from Zionism.
Zionist colonization must either stop, or else pive population. Which means that it can proceed and develop only under the protection of a power that is independent of the native population — behind an iron wall, which the native population cannot breach.
En aldus gebeurt sinds 1947, met niet aflatende steun van het Westen op politiek, economische en militair gebied. De witte man mocht op den duur geen Apartheidsstaat in Zuid Afrika in het leven, maar de Joodse zionisten in Israel tot nu toe wel. Maar dit alles was slechts theater, want ook Jabotinski’s volgelingen beseften al vrij snel de doortraptheden van de linkse oprichters van de staat, Ben-Goerion’s voortgaande etnische zuivering van Palestina en het accepteren van Joodse nederzettingen op de Westbank, die jarenlang onder linkse en rechtse regeringen zonder ophef en tegenwerking doorgingen, ondanks het feit dat Israel daarmee het internationaal recht bleef schenden en de VN-resoluties negeerde. In 1940, the Irgun split, and a faction left to start a group that called itself ‘Fighters for the Freedom of Israel,’ or Lehi, according to its Hebrew initials. The Lehi broke off because it was opposed to stopping military action against the British.
The reader may be dumbfounded by my calling Shamir part of a pro-Nazi gang, but it's literally true. Lehi was fascist in form and practice, admired Nazi Germany right into 1942, and attempted to make a military alliance with Adolph Hitler.
Lehi was commonly referred to by Palestinian Jews as ‘the Stern Gang’ after its top leader Avraham Stern. Lenni Brenner has written extensively about its attempt to link with the Nazis. Documents found after the Second World War showed that in January and again in December of 1941, the group sent representatives to meet with Nazi officials to establish a military alliance. The Nazis weren't interested.
Now, the full dimensions of the Holocaust were not known in 1941, but the atrocities had certainly begun. After all, on ‘Kristallnacht’ back in 1938, the Nazis murdered a hundred German Jews and put 30,000 in concentration camps. How in blazes could a Jewish group in 1941 want to ally with Nazi Germany?

Nog wat aanvullende achtergrond-informatie over Joodse terroristen van Betar, die tijdens het interbellum van Mussolini in zijn Italië militair werden voorbereid op hun strijd tegen de Britten, die Adolf Hitler’s plannen dwarsboomden:
I rely on a 1992 article about Shamir and Lehi by the esteemed human rights advocate, the late Israel Shahak. He himself quotes from a book about the Lehi written by an Israeli named Dr. Yosef Heller (no relation), written in Hebrew in 1988.
Heller explains that Avraham Stern admired the Nazi and Italian fascists. In 1940, Mussolini's air force bombed Tel Aviv, killing 100 people and injuring hundreds more. No doubt most Palestinians, Jews and Arabs alike, were horrified. Stern had a different reaction. According to the Heller book, the attack ‘impressed him deeply,’ and Stern became convinced that Italy would be victorious.
Stern ‘expressly stated his wish to be like Quisling, already known then as the ruler of Norway on Hitler's behalf. He wanted to perform the same role in the 'kingdom of Israel' allied with the Nazis.’ And the borders of this kingdom? From the Nile to the Euphrates!
Stern was serious about creating a monarchy. He detested democracy. According to Yosef Heller, Stern wrote, ‘Democracy as a goal in itself is something we should have nothing to do with.’ In conformity with this notion, Lehi under Stern's inspiration praised the Nazis extravagantly for locking the Polish Jews into the ghettos, contrasting this favorably with the conditions of Jewish life in Poland before the Nazi invasion.
The Stern Gang killed a growing number of Jewish and British colonial police. The British caught up with Avraham Stern in Tel Aviv in February 1942 and, according to a witness, tied him up and murdered him. Shamir and others were arrested, but later escaped.
No more was said about linking up with Hitler, but Lehi continued to fight against the British during the war. In 1944, they assassinated Lord Moyne, the highest British official in the Middle East. One of the killers was Eliyahu Bet-Zuri, who was later hanged. In 2011, the London Telegraph newspaper reported that MI5 files included a report saying that in 1944, Bet-Zuri suggested the group assassinate Winston Churchill.
Obviously, they never did that, but they killed. They killed Arabs, they killed the UN's first mediator (and Second World War rescuer of Jews) Count Folke Bernadotte, and they took part in the infamous Deir Yassin massacre. And they killed Jews — many Jews. In fact, most of their 42 assassinations were of Jews — some for supposedly collaborating, some for trying to leaving Lehi.

Beroemde politici zoals de latere premiers van Israël Menachem Begin, Yitzhak Shamir en Ehoed Olmert, maar ook Eitan Livni en bijvoorbeeld Moshe Arens maakten deel uit van Betar tijdens de Britse overheersing in Eretz Israel. Avraham Stern, oprichter en leider van de Stern-gang (Lechi), was onderdeel van Betar. De huidige premier van Israël Benjamin Netanyahu, zijn voorganger Olmert en ook huidig parlementslid Tsipi Livni waren op jonge leeftijd lid van de jeugdafdeling van Betar.

Vreemd, de Britten hebben toch middels de 'Balfour Declaration' van 2 november 1917 toch een joods tehuis toegezegd in Palestina? Wat is hiervoor de verklaring?
