The farcical circus of US politics:
Senator Tom Cotton grills TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew, a Singaporean citizen, asking him if he is a member of the Communist Party of China, whether he has ever applied for Chinese citizenship, and bizarrely, about Tiananmen Square protests in 1989.
Tom Cotton: "Have you ever been a member of the Chinese Communist Party?"
TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew: "Senator, I'm Singaporean. No!"
Cotton: "Have you ever been associated or affiliated with the Chinese Communist Party?"
Chew: "No, Senator. Again, I'm Singaporean!"
Red scare McCarthyism 2.0 cannot distinguish China and Singapore as two separate nations.
