Former French PM: justice must be done in Gaza

Two former French prime ministers clashed over whether France has failed to hold Israel to account over Gaza. Dominique de Villepin, prime minister between 2005 and 2007, said France must apply the principles of international law in the Middle East in the same way it does in Ukraine.

Elisabeth Borne, who was prime minister under President Macron from 2022 until earlier this year, stated that Israel has a right to defend itself, and called de Villepin's stance over Gaza 'political manoeuvring'.
