This will make him the first sitting U.S. president to visit Hiroshima since the U.S. dropped an atomic bomb on the city on August 6, 1945.<br /><br />The White House has been aggressively downplaying expectations for this visit. Recent reports have said that President Obama will not "have time" to meet with survivors of the atomic bombing (hibakusha) while he is in the city.
