''Appeal at the initiative of the National Collective for a Just and Enduring Peace between Palestinians and Israelis:GAZA: STOP THE MASSACRE OF THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE1.5 million persons under siege, in flame, bombarded for 18 months is collective punishment and therefore a war crime under the terms of the Geneva Convention. (33.5)1.5 million people who are subjected to an attack of unprecedented violence by the Israeli army, is another war crime!' 'De regering Olmert begon haar periode met de luchtoorlog tegen Libanon in 2006, en beëindigt die in stijl: met bloedige bombardementen op de Gazastrook. Toen en nu weer is het excuus: we kunnen niet anders. Toen en nu is dat een leugen. .. Stichting Een Ander Joods Geluid houdt daarom de Israëlische regering niet alleen verantwoordelijk voor elke dode en elke gewonde die in Gaza valt, maar ook voor deze totale stagnatie van ''het vredesproces''.' Dignity Leaves for Gaza: Challenges World to "Stop this Madness!"
For more information, please contact:(Gaza) Ewa Jasiewicz, +972 598 700 497 / freelance@mailworks.org(Cyprus) Lubna Masarwa +357 99 081 767 / lubnna@gmail.com(U.S.) Greta Berlin, +1 310 422 7242 / iristulip@gmail.com (Larnaca, Cyprus 29 December 2008) -
There is a time when silence is complicity and inaction is unacceptable. On Saturday, December 27, Israel began Operation "Cast Lead," a military onslaught against the civilian population of the Gaza Strip that has - so far - massacred more than three-hundred men, women, and children, and seriously injured over a thousand. In response to Israeli butchery, the Free Gaza ship, the DIGNITY, will depart Larnaca Port at approximately 5pm (UTC), on Monday, December 29, bound for besieged Gaza. The ship is on an emergency mission carrying in physicians, human rights workers and over three tons of desperately needed medical supplies donated by the people of Cyprus.'

'Israeli Attacks Kill Over 310 in Gaza in One of Israel’s Bloodiest Attacks on Palestinians Since 1948
Amidst worldwide protests, Israel is continuing its bombing campaign against Gaza for the third consecutive day and preparing to launch a possible ground invasion. Following months of a crippling blockade, this has been described as one of Israel’s bloodiest attacks on Palestinians since 1948. Latest reports indicate that 310 people have been killed and 1,400 injured in the aerial strikes across the Gaza Strip since Saturday morning.'

Déjà vu in Gaza. Only hatred, bereavement, pain, and desire for revenge will come out of Gaza

There it is again, the cyclical "déjà vu war." That same ceremonial bloodshed that again is being poured into the hot lava that has been leading the entire region to misery for dozens of years now.' Zie: http://stanvanhoucke.blogspot.com/2008/12/de-israelische-terreur-527.html

'The neighborhood bully strikes again
Israel embarked yesterday on yet another unnecessary, ill-fated war. On July 16, 2006, four days after the start of the Second Lebanon War, I wrote: "Every neighborhood has one, a loud-mouthed bully who shouldn't be provoked into anger... Not that the bully's not right - someone did harm him. But the reaction, what a reaction!" Two and a half years later, these words repeat themselves, to our horror, with chilling precision. Within the span of a few hours on a Saturday afternoon, the IDF sowed death and destruction on a scale that the Qassam rockets never approached in all their years, and Operation "Cast Lead" is only in its infancy. Once again, Israel's violent responses, even if there is justification for them, exceed all proportion and cross every red line of humaneness, morality, international law and wisdom.' 'Johann Hari: The true story behind this war is not the one Israel is telling
Monday, 29 December 2008
The world isn't just watching the Israeli government commit a crime in Gaza; we are watching it self-harm. This morning, and tomorrow morning, and every morning until this punishment beating ends, the young people of the Gaza Strip are going to be more filled with hate, and more determined to fight back, with stones or suicide vests or rockets. Israeli leaders have convinced themselves that the harder you beat the Palestinians, the softer they will become. But when this is over, the rage against Israelis will have hardened, and the same old compromises will still be waiting by the roadside of history, untended and unmade

'Mustafa Barghouthi
Secretary General of the Palestinian National InitiativePosted December 29, 2008 12:06 PM (EST)Palestine's Guernica and the Myths of Israeli Victimhood
This is a guest post written by Mustafa Barghouthi, Secretary General of the Palestinian National Initiative. These comments and views are his own and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Huffington Post. Barghouti is a former secular candidate for President of Palestine and has been a strong advocate of non-violent responses to Israeli occupation. Barghouti is thought by many to be a leading contender in the next Palestinian presidential election. Perspectives have also been solicited from various national leaders and incumbent Knesset leaders in Israel.' Zie: http://stanvanhoucke.blogspot.com/2008/12/de-israelische-terreur-530.html
